On 5th May, World Asthma Day 2026, Child Survival India with SBI Foundation organized a community awareness session in Kulesi village, Chitrakoot, to encourage conversations around asthma, respiratory health, and the importance of early care.

With asthma affecting thousands across India, awareness at the community level becomes essential to help people recognize symptoms early and seek timely medical support. They build our cities, power our economies, and keep our systems running, yet access to essential healthcare services remains a challenge for many migrant labourers, whether they work in construction, in factories, or as rickshaw pullers and street vendors etc.

For many construction and migrant workers, long hours, limited healthcare access, and lack of safe childcare remain everyday realities.

At Child Survival India, our work focuses on bridging these gaps.

Through creches at construction sites, supported by Mobile Creches, we create safe and nurturing spaces for children, allowing parents to work with greater security and peace of mind.

At the same time, our Targeted Intervention Prevention Program for migrant workers in Chandigarh, supported by the Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society, works towards improving awareness, prevention, and access to essential health services among vulnerable communities.

This Labour Day, we reaffirm a simple belief:
Dignity at work is not just about livelihoods, it is about health, safety, and care for every worker and their family.

Water is not just a resource, it’s our shared responsibility.

Under Jal Pakhwada: Catch the Rain Campaign (16th–30th April 2026), implemented as part of the Jal Shakti Abhiyan, Child Survival India, in collaboration with SBI Foundation, carried out a series of impactful grassroots activities to promote water conservation and awareness.

From engaging school students through creative competitions to conducting awareness sessions with community members, the campaign emphasized simple, actionable practices, protecting water sources, understanding waterborne diseases, and ensuring safe drinking water.

By bringing together schools and communities, this initiative highlights the strength of collective action in building a water-secure future.

Every drop counts. Let’s continue to act, conserve, and sustain.

False information doesn’t just mislead, it leaves children unprotected.

The truth is simple, vaccines are safe, effective, and save millions of lives every year. They don’t cause disease, they build protection against it.

Yet, myths and misinformation continue to create gaps in immunization, especially in underserved communities.

At Child Survival India, we are working to close this gap, by building awareness, strengthening trust, and ensuring every child has access to life-saving vaccines.

Vaccines save an estimated 3–5 million lives every year, yet over 20 million children still miss out on routine immunization. Behind these numbers are children who remain vulnerable to preventable diseases like measles, polio, and tetanus , diseases we already have the power to stop.

At Child Survival India, our work focuses on bridging this gap, through awareness, community engagement, and reaching the last mile with essential health services.

Immunization is not just a health intervention, it is a child’s right and a foundation for a healthier future.

To ensure inclusivity, pictorial IEC materials in local languages are shared, making vital health information accessible and easy to understand, especially for elderly community members.

In collaboration with SBI Foundation , Child Survival India operates the SBIF Sanjeevani Clinic on Wheels, bringing essential healthcare services closer to underserved communities in Washim (Maharashtra), and Chitrakoot and Fatehpur (Uttar Pradesh).

Access to basic hygiene can shape a child’s health and future.

At the Zila Parishad School in Borgaon, Washim, improved hygiene access has been ensured through the installation of handwashing platforms, encouraging children to practice safe habits every day.

In collaboration withSBI Foundation , Child Survival India has developed these handwashing platforms to promote better hygiene practices among children.

Small interventions like these go a long way in preventing infections and building a culture of health from an early age.

This initiative, under theSwachh Bharat Mission, is a step towards creating safer and healthier learning environments for children.
