We empower children, adolescents, women and the underprivileged using a comprehensive approach of education, health, life skills and leadership. Our ongoing projects:
AMBASSADORS OF CHANGE
Adolescence undoubtedly is the most crucial part of our life. There are doubts and confusions in the minds of teenagers who are often torn between what they are told by their parents, what they find outside and
what they actually want to do. All this leaves an impact on the family and particularly on adolescents. Keeping the above in mind Modicare Foundation implemented ‘Ambassadors of Change (AOC)’ program through which we work with children in the age group of 10-19 years, covering topics such as - Growing up concerns and HIV/AIDS through Life Skills approach. KHWABGAH
Modicare Foundation strongly believes that every individual has the potential to transform their lives to grow and develop as a responsible citizen. This vision is highly relevant in the backdrop of small children wandering on the streets, begging for food and money and at times engaged in rag picking. These are the children pushed onto the street by poverty, violence and desperation. In this backdrop, Khwabgah was born in 2012 in the slums of Taimur Nagar to restore the dignity and nurture aspirations and dreams of these underprivileged children. This was an initiative to help children dream and develop self-confidence and capabilities. Khwabgah Centres provided a safe environment for children to grow and learn by focusing on education, health, nutrition and life skills. While mainstreaming Khwabgah children into government schools we realised that the system suffers from massive gaps including absenteeism, dropouts, poor infrastructure and lack of trained and motivated teachers. In this context, the Modicare Foundation decided to make a transition to formal institutionalised framework, in 2015, in order to improve the quality of education and school environment. At behest of SDMC, the Foundation entered into a partnership with the municipal government for an intensive and extensive engagement in 4 of its primary schools, two in New Friends Colony and two in Jasola. PARTNERS IN CHANGE
Partners in Change is an initiative of the Foundation towards learning and collaboration. Under this program we provide training and awareness building to organisations on critical social issues. The Foundation provides technical support to corporate/industries, institutions and NGOs to develop a comprehensive program on HIV/AIDS, Reproductive health, Gender and Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplaces (POSH) within their workplace.
