IRF Urges Delhi Government to Remove Price Ceiling on EV Incentives
The International Road Federation (IRF) has urged the Government of Delhi to reconsider the ₹30 lakh ex-showroom price ceiling for incentives under the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2026.

In a communication to the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Delhi, Mr. K. K. Kapila, President Emeritus, International Road Federation (IRF), emphasized that the environmental benefits of electric vehicles are independent of their purchase price. Every EV contributes to reducing air pollution, lowering carbon emissions, and advancing India's clean mobility goals.

While appreciating the Delhi Government's commitment to promoting electric mobility through policy incentives and charging infrastructure, IRF believes that extending incentives to all eligible electric vehicles, irrespective of price, would:
✔ Accelerate EV adoption across all segments
✔ Encourage greater investment in clean mobility
✔ Strengthen Delhi's leadership in sustainable transportation
✔ Support India's long-term environmental and net-zero objectives

A policy framework that rewards the environmental impact of electric vehicles, rather than their price, will help create a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future.

🚗 DEFENSIVE DRIVER TRAINING PROGRAM 🚗
Building Safer Drivers. Creating Safer Roads. Saving Lives.

Every year, thousands of lives are lost on our roads due to preventable human errors such as speeding, distraction, fatigue, poor judgment, and unsafe driving practices. While road infrastructure and vehicle safety continue to improve, the behavior of drivers remains one of the most critical factors influencing road safety outcomes.

To address this challenge, the International Road Federation – India Chapter (IRF-IC) is proud to offer its Defensive Driver Training Learning Management System (LMS), designed to equip drivers with the knowledge, skills, and mindset required to anticipate risks, make safer decisions, and prevent crashes before they occur.

Led by renowned road safety expert and IRF-IC Member Mr. Naresh Raghavan, Founder – Topdriver India, this comprehensive online training programme provides participants with practical insights into defensive driving techniques, hazard perception, risk management, vehicle control, and safe road behavior.

Key Benefits of the Programme:
✅ Learn anytime, anywhere through a flexible online platform
✅ Understand defensive driving principles and accident prevention strategies
✅ Improve driving confidence, awareness, and decision-making skills
✅ Enhance fleet safety performance and reduce operational risks
✅ Receive certification upon successful completion
✅ Suitable for individual drivers, corporate fleets, transport operators, government agencies and institutions.

Why Defensive Driving Matters:
A defensive driver not only follows traffic rules but also anticipates the mistakes of others, adapts to changing road conditions, and takes proactive measures to avoid collisions. Investing in driver training is one of the most effective ways to reduce crashes, injuries, fatalities, vehicle downtime and associated economic losses.

At IRF-IC, we believe that road safety is a shared responsibility. Through capacity building, education, and awareness initiatives, we continue to work towards our vision of safer roads, safer transport systems, and a safer India.

Proud Moment for IRF-IC!

The International Road Federation – India Chapter (IRF-IC) is proud to have contributed to strengthening emergency response capabilities in Chhattisgarh.

Our Trauma Care Team recently conducted intensive First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) training for over 450 Dial-112 police vehicle drivers and personnel at Maruti IDTR, Raipur.

Today, it is gratifying to see this initiative gain national recognition as the expanded Dial-112 emergency response vehicles were officially inaugurated by Hon. Minister of Home Affairs Sh. Amit Shah.

By equipping first responders with life-saving skills, we are ensuring that accident victims receive critical care in the golden hour—when every second counts.

We are honored to support this vital initiative and remain committed to our mission of making India’s roads safer through training, preparedness and rapid emergency response.
