CCS envisions a world where each individual leads a life of choice in personal, economic and political spheres and every institution is accountable. Somewhere between chai breaks, street-side chats, and countless conversations…
we reached 15,000 vendors on Jeevika App

Not just a number, this is thousands of street vendors stepping into a more secure, visible, and empowered future. And the growing trust that systems can work for them, that their voices matter, and that coming together makes a difference.

Every onboarding is a step towards more dignity, more visibility, and stronger support.

Still a long way to go, but change is already in motion.

Grateful for the trust.

What does it actually mean to live in an open society? 🕊️

In a recent public lecture, philosopher Chandran Kukathas turned the conventional definition on its head. Rather than viewing “openness” as a set of shared values, he argues that a truly open society is built on one core foundation: Toleration.

Key takeaways:
• The Bayle Approach: Toleration isn’t just “putting up” with others; it’s the principled refusal to use coercion to enforce conformity.

• The “No Limits” Dilemma: Kukathas suggests that once you limit toleration, you’ve essentially abandoned it.
• Power vs. Justice: Do our moral appeals constrain power, or just provide a fancy mask for it?

A must-watch for anyone interested in pluralism, immigration, and the future of diversity.

Nations don’t rise because of who their people are.
They rise because of the freedom those people have.
