A fantastic day in Dublin with 20 TY students from Tullamore College as part of the Youth for Sustainable Development (YSD) Programme. The day kicked off with a quiz, followed by a certificate graduation ceremony at the ECO-UNESCO office, and concluded with a visit to the National Botanic Gardens. Well done to all students on their participation and achievements!

ECO-UNESCO Summer Camps in Dublin and Cork still have spots available! ☀️

The action-packed Green Teen and ECO-Explorers Camps have been designed to support young people’s personal development through physical activity, nature learning and engaging in environmental thinking. Participants will explore environmental issues in a fun and creative way, go on day trips around Dublin, meet like-minded people, and gain confidence and new skills.

ECO-Explorers Summer Camp:
CORK: July 6 -10 2026, 10am-3pm
DUBLIN: July 6-10 2026,10am-3pm
DUBLIN: August 20-24 2026, 10am-3pm

Green Teen Summer Camp:
CORK: August 10 – 14 2026,10am-3pm

On Friday, YSD hosted the Leadership Training Programme! The programme is for the young people currently completing our QQI Level 5 course on Peer Education who wish to develop skills specific for taking action in their community as leaders and changemakers.

The event saw the Peer Education QQI course close out as participants presented their final projects, facilitating a workshop to their peers. Guest speakers gave a short presentation on how youth leadership connects with global citizenship by mobilising global justice, equity and sustainability. Members of the Youth Advisory Panel were also in attendance and shared their experience taking a youth leadership role within ECO-UNESCO.

ECO-UNESCO is offering Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) Accredited Courses, starting in June.

Ecology and the Environment: A course for anyone with interest in this area: Senior Cycle Students, school leavers, higher education students from any discipline, or professionals. This course provides students with the knowledge about the ever-growing and developing field of ecology through classroom sessions, practical tasks and field trips.

This course will be carried out in person, over 2 weeks , and costs €500/learner.

ECO-UNESCO is offering Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) Accredited Courses, starting in June.

Community Participation: A course for anyone who wants to develop skills and confidence in teamwork, cooperation, and community action. A perfect, concise programme for young people and students as well as community or youth leaders. This course offers discussion-based learning and will help you understand your own community, leading to a community action project and a final report and reflection.

This course will be carried out in person, over 3 weeks (2 days/week), and costs €250/learner (fee concession may be available, contact us for more info).

Biodiversity week continues!🌍🌄
We kicked off the week with the beautiful Howth Cliff Walk, featuring a group of young people taking QQI Level 5 Peer Education (soon to be our YSD summer group too!) and YSD officers Megan, Barry and Marielle.
Students went on a hunt to identify the most amount of species - with the winning student getting a prize for identifying 43 species!! 🌱
