Happy International Environmental Education Day from ECO-UNESCO 🌍

ECO-UNESCO is incredibly proud to stand for over 40 years at the intersection of education and environmental action as we mark International Environmental Education Day. This day is rooted in the Tbilisi Declaration of 1977, when global leaders of 60+ countries made a declaration to use education as a tool for environmental change.

Since 1986, ECO-UNESCO has empowered communities, schools and individuals of all ages to create meaningful impact. We've championed education as the foundation for a more sustainable future and worked with hundreds of thousands of people throughout the past four decades.

This day reminds us of the importance of growing changemakers today for a better tomorrow. 🌱

ECO-Week 2026 FREE & ONLINE Session: One Planet, Different Experiences 🌍

We share one planet, but we don’t all experience its challenges in the same way. Join Waheed Liam Adam, GOAL NextGen Alumni member with a background in UNICEF Zimbabwe and a Bachelor’s in Global Responsibility and Leadership, to explore what inequality looks like around the world, how environmental challenges can affect people differently and what disability can teach us about creating more inclusive climate action. This session will run on Friday, Sep 25th, at 10 AM for age group 8 to 12 and 1:30 PM for age group 13 to 18.

Join ECO-UNESCO's annual celebration of the UN Sustainable Development Goals Week, packed with FREE, online sustainability sessions! From September 21st to 25th, young people can explore themes like climate action, biodiversity, food waste, and fast fashion.

We're offering sessions for two age groups: 8 to 12 and 13 to 18. Sessions are expert-led and held daily.

We're urgently looking for a Facilitator/Teacher for our upcoming Ecology & the Environment Course running from September 10th - November 12th. 🌱📖

ECO-UNESCO is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced part-time Facilitator to deliver our Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI)-Accredited Ecology & Environment course (Level 6). The course will run from 10 September to 12 November, with classes taking place every Thursday evening from 5:30 pm–8:00 pm and every Saturday from 9:30 am–4:30 pm. The successful candidate will support and engage learners through interactive and high-quality tuition throughout the course.

This role is an independent contractor position, offered on a part-time, flexible-hours basis under a contract for service. Work will depend on the ongoing training needs of ECO-UNESCO’s education and training courses.
