A Kentucky man has been arrested after allegedly replacing his pregnant girlfriend’s medication with an abortion drug without her knowledge.

Police say 26-year-old Abdullah Mohmand, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, swapped her prescription medication with Misoprostol after repeatedly pressuring her to get an abortion. The woman later reported the incident to Kentucky State Police.

There were 18,783 abortions in Scotland in 2025, the highest on record.

It represents a very disturbing 55% increase in abortions since 2016 when 12,135 abortions took place. The latest figures were released on Tuesday by Public Health Scotland. Also evident from the figures is that the abortion rate per 1,000 women aged 15 to 44 has risen significantly, increasing from 11.9 in 2016 to 17.6 in 2025.

The 2025 data also indicates that 42.2% of abortions carried out were repeat procedures.

Pictured: Thomas Dillon, may he rest in peace.

The death of Thomas Dillon through Canada’s MAiD programme has intensified debate over the country’s euthanasia laws and the negative impact it’s having on vulnerable patients facing mental-health and social struggles.

Dillon, 45, from Ontario, who suffered from Crohn’s disease and depression, was assessed for euthanasia by Dr James MacLean outside a Tim Hortons coffee shop. On the day his life was eventually ended, MacLean met him again outside the same coffee shop and later drove him to a funeral establishment, where he administered the lethal medications.

In keeping with his leadership style since 2011, Taoiseach Micheál Martin has again given preference to a member of his parliamentary party who promotes a pro-abortion agenda, through the appointment today of Fianna Fáil TD Catherine Ardagh as Minister of State at the Department of Justice.

The recent Social Democrats bill to abolish the three-day wait before abortion and widen the grounds for late-term abortions was opposed by 85 TDs with just 30 supporting it.

Catherine Ardagh was the sole member of Fianna Fáil to vote in favour of the Soc Dem bill.

Micheál Martin would no doubt argue that abortion was not a primary consideration in the appointment. However, the fact remains that he has a record of elevating abortion-supporting members of the party over others and is doing nothing at present to address Ireland’s soaring abortion numbers, which reached 10,852 in the most recent year for which figures are available.

Does the party leader's approach reflect the membership of Fianna Fáil? If not, they deserve better. The wider public certainly deserves better.
