Caring for someone at the end of life brings many questions: Am I doing enough? What support is available? Who can I turn to?

This Carers Week, we're answering some of the most common ones that carers ask, so you do not have to navigate this alone!

Grief changes so much , not just how we feel, but how we see the world around us.

This , we’re sharing a few gentle reminders that many people wish they had heard earlier in their grief journey — truths that can be both comforting and confronting at the same time. 🌿✨

Grief doesn’t follow a straight path. Some days feel manageable, others feel overwhelming. There are moments of guilt, moments of numbness, moments of small steps forward. And all of it is valid.

You don’t have to have the answers right now. You don’t have to “do it right.” You just have to get through today, in whatever way you can.
If today feels impossible, even the smallest steps, a breath, a message, stepping outside are enough.

If you need someone to talk to, you don’t have to carry it on your own.
Our Bereavement Support Line is here with care and compassion:

As Ireland continues to change - socially, culturally, demographically - so too do our experiences and conversations around dying, death and bereavement. That's why Paula O'Reilly, CEO of Irish Hospice Foundation, warmly invites you to join our Forum on End of Life 2026, as we celebrate 40 years of impact in Ireland. This flagship event will explore these shifts and what they mean for individuals, families and communities today.

đź—“ September 24th. 2026
📍 Croke Park, Dublin

Under the theme: “Every Death Matters: Dying, Death and Bereavement in a Changing Ireland - Emerging Narratives”, the Forum will bring together leading voices and expert speakers to share insights, challenge perspectives, and explore what matters most at the end of life in a modern Ireland.

Reflecting a diverse and evolving society, the day will highlight how attitudes are changing and will spark meaningful discussion and fresh thinking through keynote talks and interactive sessions. At Irish Hospice Foundation, we believe every death matters, and we remain committed to improving end-of-life and bereavement care for all.

We would be delighted to welcome you! Register here:https://ow.ly/4kvh50Z86h0
