In celebration of Climate Action Week, Bike Week and Biodiversity Week, Finglas Area Office Community Development and Public Domain teams proudly present the first Finglas Greening Festival, taking place on 13 May 2026 from 4.00pm to 7.00pm, adjacent to Finglas Area Office and Finglas Sports and Fitness Centre.

Highlighting the amazing work of environmental, sustainability and circular economy programmes and groups in the Finglas area, the festival will showcase how small changes in how we relate to food, waste, water, energy, and skills and resource sharing can make a big difference to us all.

Participants include Eat the Streets, CODEMA, Mr Compost, and local groups such as Finglas Tidy Towns, community gardens, and Men’s Sheds, as well as display stands promoting local circular economy community enterprises. Information will be available on how to get involved in environmental and local clean-up projects, along with details on Dublin City Council’s cleansing and recycling programmes and initiatives.

Free workshops will include composting information sessions, growing sustainable plants for biodiversity, small-scale vegetable planting, and furniture upcycling. Plants will be available to purchase, and there will be raffles and giveaways to help you on your way to a more sustainable home and community.

Refreshments will be available in our picnic area.
