The bus has arrived at St. Louise's! 🎉

Thanks to the incredible fundraising efforts of the Dash for Respect campaign we're proud to share that the bus funded by our community is now on campus at St. Louise's, Glenmaroon!

This is more than just a bus. It's a gateway to independence, community, and inclusion for the women living at St. Louise's, helping them access their local community and live more inclusive lives. 💜

This milestone wouldn't have been possible without the dedication of Dash Cafe and our incredible fundraising committee: Martin McCaffrey, Larry Healy, Richard Boland, Monica Holmes, and David Hall. We are also so grateful for everyone who ran, swam, hiked, baked, walked a catwalk, and showed up in every way imaginable during our fundraising events. Together we raised an extraordinary €100,000. 👏

Thank you for helping make a real difference.

At Avista Foundation, Respect is at the heart of everything we fundraise for, and everything we fundraise with. 🌟

Whether we're hosting events, welcoming customers and volunteers into our charity shops, or building corporate partnerships; we believe every interaction is an opportunity to show someone that they and their contribution are truly valued. We listen, we collaborate, and we never take the trust of our community for granted.

The funds we raise exist to serve people. So, we believe the way we raise them should reflect the same respect we want every person supported by Avista to experience. 💜

Fundraising, done with Respect, isn't just about reaching a goal. It's about honouring the community that makes it possible and the people whose lives it changes.

Over 200 books were sold at our launch! 📚✨

We were honoured to host two evenings celebrating the launch of Professor Seamus Cowman’s landmark book. This book will resonate with so many who know first-hand what it means to be a carer, navigating a system that too often places obstacles in the way of the people who need it most.

We want to start by extending our deepest thanks to Seamus and his wife Nenette for sharing such a deeply personal and powerful story with us. Their 19 years of caring for their beloved daughter Natasha, who was supported here at Avista’s St. Vincent’s Centre, is a tale of love, resilience, and fierce determination in the face of adversity.

A huge thank you to our wonderful guest speakers: RSCI’s Jennifer Ryan, previous Social Affairs correspondent for RTE Joe Little, recently retired Avista ACEO Theresa O’Loughlin, and Tony Murray from the Before We Die campaign. Your words added so much to both evenings.

We are also incredibly grateful to ‘Buy The Book’ for their fantastic support in making the book available. Another thank you to our brilliant Avista staff who came out to show their support, and to our CEO Lorraine Macken.

Finally, to every single person who has preordered or purchased a book, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. 💜

All proceeds from the sale of the book go directly to Avista Foundation, supporting the vital work we do for children and adults with disabilities here in Dublin.

To Gordon, Madhav, Chiara, and Caoimhe, you absolutely smashed it! 🏅

Last Sunday, May 3rd, four of our incredible fundraisers ran the Dublin City Half Marathon. Gordon, Madhav, Chiara, and Caoimhe gave every ounce of energy they had for an amazing cause.

Together, they raised an outstanding €1,860 for Avista Foundation. Every euro raised goes directly toward our long-term goals supporting children and adults with disabilities and complex support needs.

We are so proud of each and every one of them💜

Feeling inspired? If you would like to fundraise for Avista Foundation, check out our upcoming events, send us a message, and become a part of our story.
