We know some of you have been waiting for a response, and we sincerely apologise for the delay. We’re working hard behind the scenes and promise to get through all outstanding applications as quickly as possible.

Busy few nights for our team. 🚨

Late nights can place significant demand on emergency services, and our volunteer Community First Responders remain committed to supporting them when needed.

Across three nights, our responders attended several CFR notifications, providing early first aid and reassurance until ambulance crews arrived.

CFRs are volunteers who are dispatched alongside the Ambulance Services to certain potentially life-threatening emergencies, providing vital care in those critical first minutes.

Proud of the team for showing up, responding professionally, and continuing to support our community, whatever the hour. 💙

Busy night for our Community First Responders. 🚨

Did you know? 🚨
DCS operates a Solo Responder Programme for trusted, experienced responders at Senior Responder level or above.
These responders have completed additional training in dynamic risk assessment and can attend notifications independently, only when it is safe and appropriate to do so.

Safety always comes first. 💙

During a recent duty, our team was providing nightlife welfare services when they received a notification in the early hours of the morning.

Our responders attended promptly and provided care to the patient until further support was available from the emergency services.

We’ve recently added a new fully equipped response bag to the DCS team. Our response bags are at the heart of what we do, giving our responders the equipment they need to provide emergency care when it matters most. From everyday calls to more complex situations, being properly equipped helps us be ready to support our community.

A huge thank you to our supporters, this vital equipment would not be possible without your continued generosity. Every contribution helps put practical, life-saving resources into the hands of our volunteer responders.

Appreciation Post 👏

Late last night, two of our Responders were on duty when they came across a rogue fire. Knowing it was going to be an issue to public safety and the surrounding flora and fauna, they contacted DFB immediately and made sure the scene was safe until the fire crew arrived.

The Dublin Fire Brigade crew arrived so quickly and were able to extinguish the fire.

What they did may not sound like a big thing but it shows the importance of keeping your wits about and reinforces the idea that you can genuinely come across anything on and off duty with DCS. In addition, we would like to reinforce that if you see something, report it. Fires like this may be small in size, definitely not small in the damage they can do.

Well done to both teams! 👏

Do you know how to share your location in an emergency? 📍

When you call emergency services, knowing where you are is just as important as knowing what has happened. But if you’re unfamiliar with the area or can’t see an address, there are simple tools that can help you pinpoint and relay your location.

From your phone’s map pin or GPS coordinates to nearby landmarks, road signs, business names, or emergency location apps, a little information can help responders find you faster.

Take a moment to save the post, you never know when it could be useful. 💙

Alongside our role as Community First Responders, we also provide welfare support: helping people who may be vulnerable, unwell, separated from friends, or simply in need of a safe conversation and some practical support.

Whether it’s a medical concern, a welfare check, or helping someone get home safely, our aim is the same: to support our community when it needs us.

Proud of the team for another busy night of looking out for people across the city. 💙
