Environmental Education Unit The Green-Campus Programme has been in operation in Ireland since 2007.

The Green-Campus Programme is an evolution of Green-Schools (known internationally as Eco-Schools) which is a programme developed by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). At present twenty five Campuses are formally registered on the Programme and nine of these have been awarded the Green Flag. The Green-Campus Programme encourages practical environmental education and the empowerment

of campuses to become exemplar in environmental stewardship. See www.greencampusireland.org for further information.

🌍✨ This , let’s celebrate by acting locally and thinking globally.

We know that our campuses are committed to sustainability and to the environment. 🌱 They do a lot: from reducing single-use plastics to promoting biodiversity and energy efficiency. Every initiative brings us closer to a greener future.

🚲Cycling has significant benefits for health. Moreover, the bicycle contributes to cleaner air and less congestion and makes education, health care and other social services more accessible to the most vulnerable populations. 🌿

Our campuses thrive when it comes to ride to school or work! They are working hardly to make sustainable transport to campus easier and more convenient to their communities! 💪

We always love to see advanced bike sheds, changing facilities and more on campus! Well done, everyone! Keep cycling 🚲🚲🚲

Bees and other pollinators play an essential role in keeping people and the planet healthy, and on the many challenges they face today. 🐝

🐝That's why we celebrate 🐝

These days bees, pollinators, and many other insects are declining in abundance. This day provides an opportunity for all of us to promote actions that will and enhance pollinators and their habitats, improve their abundance and diversity, and support the sustainable development of beekeeping.

What's your campus doing to protect our pollinators? Let us know and tag us! 🤓

98% of the oxygen we breathe comes from plants.🌿
80% of the food we eat is provided by plants. 🍽️
But we lose as much as 40% of crops from pests and diseases every year, impeding efforts to provide food and nutrition for all.

Protecting plants means protecting life!
