Crimes against fashion, committed for a very good cause! ๐Ÿ‘”๐ŸŽธ

Team MDI have been embracing the Bad Shirt Friday spirit today ahead of tonight's fundraising gig at First Presbyterian Church, Rosemary Street, Belfast. Even our CEO Alan and Comms Officer Niall got in on the act!

Ireland's premier garage-punk-blues duo The Bonnevilles join Co Down singer-songwriter Stafel from 7pm, with all profits split between Muscular Dystrophy Ireland and Muscular Dystrophy UK.

Dig out your most offensive shirt, and support families affected by neuromuscular conditions this Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Month.

Today marks the one year anniversary of the passing of our beloved Jimmy Murray.
We honoured his memory today in our head office by coming together for his lunch time favourite, a big fry up.
We were also joined by his sister Orlaigh and shared fond memories of her brother and our friend.
The fund set up in his name "The Jimmy Murray centre stage fund" continues from donations kindly received and is still going strong where our members can enter a monthly raffle to win tickets to see a show in his name.

The Remembrance Tournament 2026 was a wonderful two-day celebration of Powerchair Football! ๐Ÿ†

Held on 15thโ€“16th August at the National Sport Ireland Indoor Arena in Abbotstown, this year saw the Remembrance Cup and the Marc Bigger Memorial Cup combine into one fantastic event, bringing together 10 teams and 47 players from across the community.

Results:
๐Ÿ† Remembrance Cup: Midlands Utd (1st), Lightning PFC (2nd), Belfast Trailblazers (3rd)
๐Ÿ† Marc Bigger Cup: Midlands United Thunder (1st), Belfast and Friends (2nd), Lightning Strikes (3rd)
โšฝ Top Goal Scorer of the Tournament: Conor Troy

There were also many other sponsored trophies and individual awards, kindly supported by families and groups in memory of past players and friends โ€” a lovely reminder of how much heart is behind this event.

It was a fantastic occasion, and one that has become a real highlight in the Powerchair Football calendar.

A huge thank you to the organisers, coaches, players, referees, supporters, families and friends who made this special weekend possible. ๐Ÿ’™

We've shared just a few photos from the two days below โ€” enjoy! ๐Ÿ“ธ
