🔵 Youth Night 2026 is coming!

On Friday, 13 November, Foróige Clubs and Projects across Ireland will come together to celebrate Oíche na hÓige / Youth Night 2026, a national celebration of youth work and the incredible contribution young people make to their communities.

From local celebrations to community showcases, Youth Night is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the creativity, achievements and positive impact of Foróige young people.

A proud day at Queen’s University Belfast on Saturday as 54 young people graduated with a Level 4 Certificate in Youth Leadership and Community Action (30 CATS)! 🎓👏

The graduates included 32 young people from RCITY Youth and 22 from St. Mary’s Grammar School in Belfast, where RCITY facilitated the programme for the first time this year.

Through the programme, they’ve developed skills in critical thinking, communication, empathy, planning, resilience, problem solving and goal setting, putting their learning into action through community projects.

Congratulations to every graduate on their hard work, commitment and the positive difference they’re making in their communities. 💜

What does growing up feel like?

Chaotic: An Eye on Adolescence is a new collection of art, writing and ideas created by Foróige young people exploring identity, belonging, school pressures, community and what it means to be a teenager today.

Working alongside artists and writers from Kids’ Own Publishing Partnership, LGBTQ+ young people and their allies were given the space to create, talk, write and explore the things that matter to them.

The finished work was celebrated with a special launch at Roscommon Arts Centre, including a reading by Mathilda from the Chaotic broadsheet, with James taking on hosting duties for the day.

The project has resulted in a brilliant collection of creative work, including a digital exhibition, video, broadsheet, posters and postcards, all shaped by the voices and experiences of the young people involved.

Huge congratulations to everyone who brought Chaotic to life!

Over 50 Foróige young people marched through Roscommon town this year, celebrating visibility, inclusion, and community 💜

We're so proud that our own Joanna O'Reilly, LGBTQI+ Youth Officer for Roscommon, served as this year's Grand Marshal, leading the festivities with a message that stuck with all of us: "Pride is more than a parade; it's a promise."

This year's theme celebrated our allies: the parents who choose love over fear, the teachers who build safer classrooms, the friends who show up, and every community member who says "you belong here."

As Joanna put it, allyship isn't about having all the answers. It's about listening, learning, and making sure LGBTQ+ people know they're never standing alone.

This is what community looks like. 🌈

📣 Young people involved in youth work, we want to hear from you!

National Youth Council of Ireland is undertaking a new national research study to assess the Socio-Economic Value of Youth Work in Ireland, and the voices of young people are central to this research.

If you take part in a youth club, project, programme or other youth work activity, complete the National Youth Council of Ireland National Youth Survey and share your experiences, opinions and ideas.

The survey takes around six minutes to complete, and the club, group or programme with the highest number of completed surveys will receive €250.

The study is being carried out by S3 Solutions on behalf of NYCI. It builds on landmark research from 2012 and will provide updated evidence on the economic and social value delivered by the youth work sector across Ireland.

Deadline is the 31st July.

Foróige’s Regional Leadership for Life Conferences are taking place across the country, giving young people the chance to build confidence, develop new skills and connect with others.

Today, Foróige young people came together to celebrate Pride 2026 with colour, community and plenty of joy.

Alongside the music, dancing and celebrations, the day was about something even more important. Creating a space where every young person can feel seen, supported and free to be themselves.

✨️ Traveller Pride 2026 was a powerful celebration of culture, identity and belonging across Foróige.

Nationally, Foróige projects marked the occasion in ways that were meaningful, creative and rooted in pride, culture and community.

From events and activities to conversations and displays, it was wonderful to see so many projects taking the opportunity to recognise and celebrate Traveller Pride.

Foróige is privileged to work with young people from Traveller communities across our organisation. These young people, along with their families and communities, bring immense richness, diversity and cultural strength to our projects and to the wider Foróige community. Traveller Pride gave us a valuable opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate that contribution.

A huge well done to everyone who organised, supported and took part in the celebrations across Foróige.
