🐝🌱 Supporting the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan through Bee8
At The Liberties Community Project, our Inner City Beekeeping Project - Bee8 programme is all about creating more pollinator-friendly spaces across our communities — and helping people understand how small, practical changes can make a real difference for biodiversity.
Through Bee8, we are working with residents, schools, community groups and businesses to:
🌼 Create and maintain pollinator-friendly planting
🐝 Support bees and other pollinating insects through better habitats and sources of food
🌱 Develop community gardens, planting areas and food-growing spaces
👩🌾 Give people hands-on experience of planting, gardening and caring for green spaces
📚 Deliver workshops and education around pollinators, biodiversity and sustainable practices
🤝 Build long-term community ownership and stewardship of local green spaces
Our work is about more than planting flowers. It is about creating spaces where people and biodiversity can thrive alongside one another.
In 2026, Bee8 delivered pollinator and biodiversity education programmes, supported planting and garden improvements across multiple community locations, and involved children, young people and residents directly in caring for their local environment.
By combining beekeeping, biodiversity, education and community action, Bee8 is helping put the principles of the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan into practice here in our urban communities.
