More than 100 incredible women, from 22 counties across Ireland, are lacing up for the Vhi Women's Mini Marathon in support of the Irish Kidney Association ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

is made up of:
โœจ Transplant recipients running in honour of their donors
โœจ Women currently on dialysis
โœจ Living donors who have given a kidney to someone they love
โœจ Mums supporting children waiting for transplants
โœจ Healthcare workers who care for kidney patients every day
โœจ Families walking in memory of loved ones lost to kidney disease

Weโ€™re really looking forward to welcoming lots of our lovely ladies for a special pre-race breakfast at the Iveagh Garden Hotel tomorrow morning for a chance to share stories, calm the nerves, and celebrate the strength of this amazing community of women ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ฌ

Cheer them on, by sharing this post, tagging someone you know whoโ€™s taking part, or tell us in the comments who youโ€™ll be thinking of on race day ๐Ÿ‘‡

Every woman running for in the Vhi Women's Mini Marathon is carrying more than a race number, sheโ€™s carrying a story ๐Ÿ’œ

We are so deeply grateful for every woman lacing up her runners for the . Theyโ€™ve put in the miles, made time between work, family and life, and now all thatโ€™s left is to show up on the day and give it their all๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธโœจ

Many are running because kidney disease has touched their own lives or the life of someone they love. Their steps help fund the IKAโ€™s counselling, patient support, holidays, advocacy and support services for kidney patients and their families across Ireland.

If youโ€™re able, they would really value your support. Every donation, big or small, helps us make life a little more comfortable for those living with kidney disease.

Thank you to everyone who supported Organ Donor Awareness Week.

Because of you, the message of organ donation reached right across Ireland ๐Ÿ’š

To our members sharing information in community spaces, to local pharmacies proudly displaying posters and Organ Donor Cards, to workplaces hosting organ donation talks, to landmarks lighting up green from dusk to dawn, and to families and individuals bravely sharing their own stories on radio, in newspapers, on TV and across social media. You helped bring the 'Organ Donation Conversation' into homes nationwide ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ

Thank you to every person who supported by talking about organ donation. Your voice helps ensure that fewer families are left in doubt at a difficult time and more lives can be saved through transplantation ๐Ÿ’š
