FamiliBase see every day the invaluable work families do when they care for a grandchild niece, nephew or sibling when the child's parents are unable to. These families are unsung hero's often preventing a child entering the care system.

This is called Kinship Care, yesterday we were represented at the Global Kinship Care Week and delighted with the focus on the importance of recognising and resourcing Kinship families.

We stand with the others in attendance yesterday demanding proper supports for Kinship Families ;

It’s been another busy week for our Child & Family Team here in FamiliBase, with lots happening across our groups and programmes.

Our PEEP group had a lovely session all about maths and numbers, using songs, play and activities to make learning fun. We even finished with a little baby disco/rave, which was great fun!

We also had a full Baby Massage class this week, with parents and babies enjoying some time together. Our key working continues, along with our Young Parent Support Programme groups, TalkBoost and the Labre Mother and Baby Group.

We’re also heading into week three of our Kinship Care programme, providing an important space specifically for kinship carers in D10 and the surrounding areas to come together, connect with others in similar situations, share experiences and access support.

It’s lovely to see so many families continuing to come along each week and to see our groups growing. Thank you to everyone who joined us this week we look forward to seeing you all again next week.

Hocus Hyperfocus Teen Hang Out Space - New Members Welcome! Every Monday 6PM to 7PM in FamiliBase

Looking for somewhere you can just be yourself? Our Hocus Hyperfocus Teen Hangout Space is a relaxed and welcoming group for neurodivergent young people to meet new friends, have a laugh, and enjoy activities together in a safe, understanding space.

There's no pressure to be anyone other than yourself whether you love games, arts, and crafts, music, chatting, or simply hanging out, there's a place for you here. We'd love to welcome some new faces, so if you think this sounds like something you'd enjoy, get in touch to find out more!

At FamiliBase Early Years, we know every child grows and learns in their own way. Alongside play and everyday learning, our programmes are targeted to give children extra opportunities to build confidence, develop communication skills and create positive relationships.

Through Theraplay, Talk Boost and Nurture Hour, children can connect with others, express themselves and feel supported in a warm, child-centred environment. These experiences are a normal part of our Early Years day, with each child’s needs, interests and strengths at the heart of what we do.

Children & young people enjoy building positive, healthy relationships & friendships while having fun & making memories. Our programme is designed to offer a healthy balance between structured activities and essential unstructured freetime. Here's a few photos of how we do this.

We are hiring!

We are looking for one Full Time AIM Practitioner (35 Hours)

We're Looking for Someone Who:
Can provide additional supports to allow target child/children to fully access the ECCE programme within an early years setting.
That can liaise with a parent with sharing of information on target child.
That can ensure the target child is safe and their health is maintained during the preschool session.
To observe, plan and implement appropriate activities through a key worker system.
To ensure that the target child receives a quality experience within the environment.
To assist with other children within the preschool when needed and to provide support for them with development needs, interests and planned activities.
Is available to work Monday to Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm
Preferably has minimum FETAC/ QQI level 5 that is approved under the Early Years (Pre-school) Regulations.
