CP2CP 2019

CP2CP 2019 This is a page to highlight our cycle of over 300kms in one day from Croke Park to Cork Port. The event was the brain child of the late Aidan Lynam.

On May Bank Holiday 2015, our good friend Aidan Lynam, lost his life while on Rev-Up4DSI, a charity event in aid of Down Syndrome Ireland (DSI). Rev-Up was the brainchild of Aidan and another parent and over ten years raised over 1 million euro for DSI. Aidan had another hair brained idea, he would cycle from Croagh Patrick in Mayo to Croke Park in Dublin in one day. Unfortunately he was never abl

e to achieve his goal however, on the 12th of September 2015 18 of his friends paid honored to him and did the cycle in his name. Just like many a hair brained idea while a few of the participants were sitting in a pub it was suggested we try it in reverse in 2017 and so we did, 30 cyclists achieve the unthinkable and cycled over 300kms in one day. Now on it third edition the event will travel from Croke Park to Cork Port on 24th of August. Our two beneficiaries are the West Cork Down Syndrome support group and CRY Ireland. May the wind always be on our backs. Ride on Magnets #34
