Here in Mahon CDP we're reflecting back on a really special evening in Loughmahon Park last Tuesday for the Non Fire Event. Mahon CDP played a lead role in making the event happen.
The staff of Mahon CDP were out in numbers to support the evening. We enjoyed seeing how the local community shone with its talent and connectedness..the sun gave it an extra glow!
Gaelscoil Mhachan entertained the crowd with an Irish dancing display and singing, a particularly special moment was hearing the new local song ' One Mahon' being blasted out by the students.
Well done to all of the staff who made it happen.
Lee's Dance group did incredible performances and wowed the crowd as well as Mahon Line Dancing group, organised by Catriona in Cork City Partnership.
Chinese Sugar painting, balloon making, outdoor games all went down a treat with the kids. They cosied up on bean bags for story telling organised by the HSE and Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The Ukrainian Choir did a memorable display of Dance and song with their self crafted traditional weaving head pieces.
Cork Sports Partnerships provided a basketball coach and Blackrock Hurling and Football Club did the poc fade. Arthur Needham and Cork City Council staff provided great support.
Every element of the event showed the strength and positivity in the community and was a great success !
