The Planting & Potting by Hand Level 3 QQI group had their final session in the centre on Tuesday. In addition to finishing their portfolios for certification, they enjoyed a pot luck lunch in the garden of the CDP.
This group will receive their QQI certificates in Autumn 2026. Congratulations to all who completed their course and committed to the course over 12 weeks with gratitude to Sophie our tutor for leading their learning. Thanks to for funding the course and also to for processing the QQI certification.

Thanks so much to everyone who gave so generously of their time, cakes and donations. So far we’ve raised €800 with time left to contribute to all the great cancer support services benefiting from the Radiothon. Pictured with his certificate of completion for placement at Mayfield Library is Michael Mathe, accompanied by his mentor, and Mayfield Library staff member, Eoin Healy. Michael finished the Cork City Libraries Progression Work programme at Mayfield on May 22nd and received a glass commemorative plaque and spending voucher also. On the wall behind Michael and Eoin, are paintings of Cork legends Kathy Barry, Michael Collins and Christy Ring, from the library art exhibition for May featuring the work of Béal na Bláth based artist, Kieran O’Callaghan. Meanwhile, to the front, happily munching biscuits, are library members, Eloise Fitzgerald, Lynn Goggin and Fionn Fitzgerald. The exhibition for June is ‘Where Love Rests’ by Snejana Angelove, and Cruinniú nan Óg will be celebrated on June 6th with ‘Feathered Friends’, a workshop for 9 to 12 year olds. Cork City Libraries

Congratulations to all participants who completed their First Aid Response course with Finbarr and will received their certificates in the coming weeks. These certificates will last for 2 years and 1 month, so a great resource to have.

Congratulations also to all participants who completed their ECDL in Using Databases with Martina. All 7 participants passed with flying colours. Well Done as this is one of the hardest modules to complete. We also welcomed 2 learners from Ballyphehane/Togher to sit their ECDL module and the good vibes of Mayfield CALP continued as they also were successful in their exams.

Thanks to our Tutors who work so hard to get people over the line and to our Funders Cork ETB & Cork City Partnership CLG for resourcing these valuable courses in the community.
