Terry Fox is an iconic Canadian hero, running across Canada in 1980 for cancer research as an amputee, he did 3,339 miles in 143 days, averaging a marathon a day.

🇨🇦 Still thinking about this one. ❤️

On 13 September, we had the absolute privilege of being invited by The Institute of Cancer Research to join Terry Fox Run UK in London once again — genuinely one of the collaborations we love the most.

A day celebrating the extraordinary legacy of Terry Fox while raising funds for cancer research. And what a day it was.

So many Canadians. So much poutine. So many brilliant people running, walking, volunteering, cheering and simply showing up for the same cause. 🇨🇦🍟

Supporting causes close to our hearts has always been part of the Papas Locas ethos. We don’t necessarily shout about everything we support — but when we have the opportunity to use this little food truck of ours to raise money, raise awareness or encourage a few more people to get behind something that matters, we will. ❤️

Cancer has touched far too many lives, and supporting the people working to change that means a great deal to us.

Thank you to The Institute of Cancer Research, Terry Fox Run UK, everyone who came to see us, and every single person who took part.

We loved feeding you. We loved meeting you. And we’re incredibly proud to be a tiny part of something much, much bigger. 🇨🇦❤️

Thank you for starting off the Terry Fox Run London in style!!

The new song and video played for the 1,500 or so gathered in Battersea Park yesterday as the intro to the Opening Ceremonies. The sun shone, the vibes were strong, and the 🇨🇦 ❤️ was peaking. I didn’t think it could be better until Bryan Adams wrote a song about Terry Fox - an instant classic which became the soundtrack for the run.
