Arts & crafts with Refugee Kindness 🕊️✨

We are feeling incredibly grateful today for our community and their kids!

Not only were we treated to the beautiful artwork created by the children, but we also enjoyed some wonderful eyebrow threading that left everyone feeling refreshed and cared for.

This beautiful day of arts and crafts was made possible thanks to the wonderful activities put together by Sumeyra, the dedication of our talented volunteers, and the funding from Race Equality First 🌸

Thank you all for supporting our families and bringing so much kindness and colour to the day!

Its very difficult to tell others about the families we support. This is mainly because those we support just want to fit it, to be accepted and be normal. They crave anonymity.

As a result, we cannot share the truths that we know would encourage every Wrexham citizen to feel sympathy and want to offer support to those who we support.

What I can do is share the photos of the lady below. She reminds me of so many of the families we support.

The pictures are screen shots from the BBC series Once Upon a Time in Iraq.
Yes, she is real and on the series can be seen fighting back the tears as she says these words. She cannot look after her children because of the civil unrest that is entirely out of her control.

Each and every one of us has a moral obligation to help and support those who are less fortunate than us, this includes the British poor, the veterans, the elderly in need and it also includes those who come to the UK having escaped atrocities and those who come to seek better lives for their children and are here living in poverty.

And what do we do? We offer friendship @, support and some second hand items.

Long shot....but

We have a family with a baby, a toddler and another little one struggling to get around.

They need a double buggy.

Anyone happen to have one they no longer need and would be happy to pass on 🤔🤔

What an energizing evening! 🎉✨️
A massive thank you to everyone who joined us for tonight’s Refugee Kindness volunteer meeting.

It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and heartening to welcome several new ones into our community. Whether you’ve been with us since day one or tonight was your very first step, your presence makes a world of difference.

Highlights of the Night
The Energy: There was so much passion in the room! Your ideas and dedication are what keep our mission moving forward.
The Connection: Seeing "old" and "new" volunteers swapping stories and advice was the highlight of the night.
The Snacks: A huge shoutout to whoever provided the delicious treats—they definitely kept us fueled and happy while we planned!

Your Impact
We truly can't say it enough: thank you for everything. Every hour you give, every item you sort, and every person you welcome helps build a stronger, kinder community for those seeking refuge. We couldn't do this without your heart and hard work.

📅 Save the Date!
We’re already looking forward to seeing you all again to keep this momentum going.
Next Meeting: Wednesday, 24th June
Time: 6:30 PM
Location: Same place!

Didn't make it tonight? No worries! We’d love to have you join us in June. There’s always room for more kindness.

See you then! 🙌✨
