CDCN - Nesting, Girlsta and Wadbister CDCN works to improve life in Nesting, Girlsta and Wadbister by supporting local facilities, services, projects and opportunities.

We also manage and develop the Aald Skül Community Hub in South Nesting. When the Shetland Islands Council made clear their intentions to sell off the old Nesting Primary School buildings and surrounding land, Nesting Aald Skül Development Association was formed to try and acquire the assets for the benefit of the local community.

We’re at the Climate Festival today! 🌿

Come along and say hi at the CDCN stall and find out more about what we’ve been working on, from community growing to reuse and renewable energy.

There are lots of other stalls to explore too. It would be lovely to see you!

Some good news for Nesting and Lunnasting 👇

We’ve secured funding to develop a Local Place Plan for the area, giving local people the opportunity to help shape how land and places are used and developed in future.

Girlsta and Wadbister will be covered through the Local Place Plan for the Tingwall, Whiteness and Weisdale Community Council area.
