Shetlanders!! This stunning choir from Suldal in Norway are in Shetland this weekend.

Including a performance in St Columba’s Church on Saturday, in association with the Shetland’s community choir.

Come you - I’ll post the poster details in comments.

They will take us on a journey from a poor crofters life in Suldal in the 1800's to emigrating to America to hope for a new and better life over there.

At our Shetland Folk Festival AGM tonight, some Festival members and trustees were getting EXCITED about the prospect of Lerwick being the UK’s first ever Town of Culture.

Lerwick is in with a chance of winning £3m for a year of cultural activity in 2028 🙏 🥰

When a singing workshop with turns into a flashmob at the 2025 Shetland Folk Festival Sunday Afternoon Club ❤️ So excited that this trio will be making a return trip to Shetland for appearances on 4th and 5th September 2026!! Thank you for bringing them back. Tickets on Shetland Arts box office.
