Well done to The Saltburn Mermates sea swimmers this morning who prevented a woman going in to the sea near to Saltburn Beck after her dog was caught in a rip current. The lady had to be shouted several times not to go in as she neared the waters edge in an attempt to get to her dog. Eventually the dog - Judy made its way to safety. Shaken & in shock, as was the owner....but alive. Sick a couple of times but left with a waggy tail. Well done to Lesa, Sami, Laura, Anne, Wendy and Dave one of our trustees who was also there. Good team effort. All involved were shaken up but still here to tell the tale.
