Looks like we have a couple of new watch keepers at the lookout 🐦 🪺 🐦.
We haven’t asked them for rent as they will only be temporary residents whilst they tend to their new family.

View from the lookout today ……
The 2 larger vessels are looking for unexploded ordnance with divers being used off the smaller one. This is prior to cable laying from the new offshore site presently under construction.
The small yellow boat in the first picture is the Windcat which is the wind farm maintenance vessel.

Recently we were experiencing problems with our radar monitoring equipment. After a visit from the IT company we use we found out we would need to purchase a new monitor and update the data card that we had.
After speaking to a local company they very kindly agreed to donate enough to purchase a new monitor & card and they paid for IT to set it all up.

Massive thanks to the team at SABIC Petrochemicals Wilton for stepping in and funding the new system for us.

Our live stream camera on the lookout opposite the Royal slipway is back up and running now.
If you are out and about and spot one of our collection boxes please feel free to donate - every penny helps pay towards maintaining and running the lookout which includes the livestream

Coastwatch Redcar received a donation this week from the family of Marilyn Dale.
Marylin was a member of the auxiliary coastguard in the 80’s and 90’s and was a Redcar lady.
Her family and friends collected £153.80 in remembrance and chose a charity close to Marilyn’s heart.
Please accept our sincere condolences on your loss. Your thoughtfulness at such a sad time is much appreciated and will help support our work of saving lives at sea
