The details of the summer holiday Join Us Short Breaks sessions are being published tomorrow morning.

Spaces will be available to book from 9am on Saturday 20th June.

Please remember to ensure you book your child/young person on to the appropriate session to meet their support needs as we cannot guarantee being able to allocate a space if booked on to the wrong session.

Join-Us went on a cheeky little tour today and caught up with Karen from Senses Wellbeing Centre CIC!

We were very lucky and were given a sneaky little peek at the new building - and all we can say is WOW!!!!

Huge well done to Karen, all the volunteers, family members, friends and trades people that have pulled together in such an epic endeavour.

Also a special thank you goes out to Karen for making it possible for our youth group to have a specialist buggy for when we go out in the community. It will make a huge difference to many of the young people that access our groups ❤️

It’s been a busy week but thanks to all the amazing sunshine we have finally been able to get out and about as well as doing activities indoors too!

Over the last few weeks some of our older group members have been working with Steph and Lucy on a project about Social Media.

Young people have shared their thoughts about social media, its safety, the impact on young peoples mental health and also the proposals to limit social media access.

The feedback they have given is today being emailed across to the team of Anna Turley so that this can be used as part of the wider consultation and round table events that Ministers have been holding with children, young people and professionals about the potential stricter regulation of social media.

Well done to all the young people that were involved, including those not on the video but who gave their feedback too.

Last night in our younger group we tried something different!

We experimented with making “edible slime”!

Two of the group were the “researchers” that bravely ventured into the kitchen with Terry and Kaitlyn and created slime from marshmallows and icing sugar! 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳

The young people involved were very patient, they concentrated for a long time, followed instructions really well and they even resisted the urge to eat all of the marshmallows before we started… one or two were eaten but just to make sure they tasted ok of course👌

We only managed to get photos of one young person but we will make sure we get more pictures next time!

In the battle of the leaflets (the completely unofficial competition between Terry and Alfie for whose leaflet is liked most) the winner is….

ALFIE ❤️

At the PfA event this afternoon we started with 40 leaflets for both Alfie’s design and Terrys design and at the end of the day we were left with only 1 of Alfie’s and 23 of Terrys!

Alfie’s poster was a huge success - well done Alfie! ⭐️
