As part of our Spotlight on Redcar & Cleveland series, we're highlighting Preparation for Adulthood.

From age 14, planning for adulthood should become an important part of supporting a young person with SEND. This includes thinking about education, employment, independent living, community participation and maintaining good health. 🌟

Friday night also saw some of our group head back out to the MUGA at 25K to play football!

The MUGA is a great local and FREE to access space that is open to the community and was fully resurfaced earlier in the year. Perfect for a kickabout or a game of basketball 🏀 ⚽️ 🥅

Young people have been talking about their hopes, dreams and the futures they want to have as we prepare for Youth Work Week 2026!

Tonight in youth group we were preparing for Youth Work Week 2026.

The theme for this years Youth Work Week is “Where Futures Begin” and it is about celebrating the people and places where young people grow, belong and thrive.

As youth workers we know that young people’s futures don’t develop in isolation – they are nurtured through support, belonging and opportunity so tonight we helped young people talk about their hopes and dreams and then create artwork about how they see their futures!

Well done to all involved!

Watch out for more posts about Youth Work Week 2026 over the next couple of weeks because the group have shared some great ideas about what they want to do to celebrate it!

After being on staff training last week we have come back to sessions with a bang this week!

It’s only Tuesday but over the last two evenings we have spent time making Halloween pictures, made pitta pizzas with Lucy, planned upcoming activities, played chess with Lillie, said “tuck shop” to Molly until she gave in and we even squeezed in some chats about college, school, living independently, transport issues and work experience!

Who knows what we might all get up to during the rest of the week 😀

Starting this Friday we have DJ Marcus back with us to deliver some more of his DJ workshops!

This is the chance for young people to learn how to mix and create their own music and then show off their skills to their friends in sessions if they would like to!

Marcus is a great mentor with experience in DJ-ing and in Youth Work so we cannot wait to see how our first session goes this week!

Our regular activities will also run during the session too.
