Meet Jhoanna! 🏃‍♀️💜
On 6th September, she will be taking on the London Big Half to raise funds for Berkshire Vision.

Jhoanna works with our friends at Newmedica Slough and kindly chose to support Berkshire Vision because, as she says:

"I know you do such amazing work, and I'm really happy to be supporting the charity."

We're incredibly grateful for Jhoanna's support and can't wait to cheer her on on race day!

If you'd like to support Jhoanna and help her reach her fundraising goal, please donate here: 👉 https://www.justgiving.com/page/jhoanna-yabut-1

Thank you, Jhoanna, and good luck from everyone at Berkshire Vision! 🎉

Our Park Walk last month took place in , where we enjoyed a stroll along the Thames and explored the Trunks Across the Thames Art Trail. In the glorious sunshine, we were able to experience the elephant sculptures through touch and enjoy a lovely picnic together.

With sighted guides available to support those who needed assistance, the and people we support were able to get out and about, enjoy the beautiful weather and spend time socialising with others.

Last month, we had a fantastic day Bell Boating at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre. We paddled in unison to propel a twin-hulled canoe along the River Thames in glorious sunshine.

Working as a team and supported by sighted volunteers, the and people we support were able to fully enjoy the experience. Through clear communication, trust and cooperation, everyone played an important role in powering the boat and keeping it moving smoothly along the river. It was a wonderful opportunity to build confidence, develop new skills and enjoy time together outdoors.

Opportunities to try new sports and build confidence are so important for people with a visual impairment, who can often face barriers to participation and inclusion.

Thank you to Sport England for supporting our adapted sports programme and helping improve access and build confidence.

For most children the summer holidays have been about adventure, freedom and fun, and cycling has often been at the heart of it. For children and young people who are or , however, getting on a bike isn't always straightforward.

But over the summer we've made sure that cycling is accessible. Through our partnership with Newbury Velo , the young people we support have enjoyed riding tandems and specially adapted bikes, experiencing the joy and excitement that cycling can bring, and most importantly they've been able to do it it with their family alongside them.
