Third Sector PK

Third Sector PK We are TSI PK, here to champion and support third sector organisations, enable volunteering and empower communities in Perth & Kinross.

Third Sector and Volunteering Hubs (previously known as Voluntary Action Perthshire VAP) was formed through the merger of the Council for Voluntary Service and the Volunteer Centre in Perth & Kinross. Third Sector and Volunteering Hubs are departments of PKAVS and fulfill the function of the Third Sector Interface for Perth & Kinross. We are funded by the Scottish Government and Perth & Kinross Co

uncil to provide four key functions:
- support, develop and represent the third sector;
- support, develop and represent social enterprises;
- support, develop and represent volunteering;
- support and promote third sector engagement with the Community Planning Partnership. Each local authority area in Scotland has a Third Sector Interface (TSI) to support, promote, develop and represent the Third Sector. The Third Sector Interface is also the vital connection between the Community Planning Partnership (CPP) and the third sector. CPPs are made up of public, private and third sector bodies including the local authority, Health board, Fire, Police and others. They are tasked with ensuring "public services provided in the area of the local authority are provided and the planning of that provision takes place" (Local Government in Scotland Act 2003). Local authorities have a duty to initiate, maintain and facilitate this process and Scottish Ministers have a duty to promote and encourage the use of Community Planning.

๐Ÿ’™ A new autism information leaflet created by young people, for the community

The Youth Voice Panel at Perth Autism Support, funded through The Gannochy Trust, has developed a short โ€œWhat is Autism?โ€ leaflet to help raise awareness, increase understanding and reduce stigma around autism in Perth & Kinross.

Created by autistic young people themselves, this fantastic resource helps ensure young voices and lived experiences are at the heart of conversations in our communities.

Weโ€™d encourage organisations, groups and community members to read and share the leaflet widely to help support greater understanding and inclusion.
