We are elated to share that we have been recognised by Oxford Brookes University for providing 'outstanding placement experiences in the 2026 celebration of excellence in practice education'.

Our team is always looking for ways to improve the experiences of our social work students, and it's so satisfying to see that this effort has paid off through the students reflecting on SAFE! as being a particularly special place to undertake their placements.

To all of our social work students, past and present, thank you for diligence, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn with us 💙

Now, here are their kind words:
'The culture within SAFE! is supporting and holistic with everyone I encountered always enquiring about your wellbeing. I could not have asked for a better first placement. The protective behaviours training that SAFE! provided was exceptional.'

'SAFE! is an exceptional place for student learning. The organisation goes above and beyond to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel comfortable and empowered to learn. Additionally, SAFE! provides a variety of resources and support services to help students succeed academically and personally. By embracing diversity and promoting equity, SAFE! fosters a culture of understanding and acceptance.'

'I always felt I had someone in the organisation to reach out to. Staff members have taken the time to give me feedback, these discussions have been incredibly helpful when reflecting on my practice and areas in which I could improve. I was often asked for my opinion and input in case discussions or session planning and I was listened to and respected throughout.'

Just under 3% of reports of sexual harm lead to charges in court. Just because a report doesn't make it this far, that doesn't mean it never happened.

There are a myriad of reasons as to why survivors don't see this outcome of their report, and, no matter what, our ChIDSVAs are here to support you through this process. Whether your case is dropped in the early stages or if it makes it all the way to court, SAFE! is here to help.
