Missed the first Conference of Common Rooms (CCR) of the academic year? Not to worry, we’ve captured some of the highlights in this video to give you insight into what Conference is really like 🎥

Chaired by Roxi Rusu, SU President for Communities and Common Rooms, CCR is Oxford SU’s main policy-making body. It brings together common room representatives from all colleges to connect, exchange ideas, and discuss shared priorities for the year ahead. Through motions debated and passed at the Conference, representatives shape the direction of the SU’s work, and inform the priorities of elected SU officers for the years to come.

This Black History Month, Cat, SU President for Welfare, Equity and Inclusion, has led on a video series which showcases Black student life at Oxford. Today, she is in conversation with Kieran and Levi, from the Oxford Hip Hop Society and Out of the Blue (an all male acapella group) respectively. This conversation focuses on Arts & Culture, what it means to them, and how it’s shaped their experience at Oxford 💙

Roxi hosted various welcome receptions this week for clubs and society leaders across, Sports, Academic and Professional, Identity and culture and Arts and Media societies.

Cat interviewing Tijesunimi, Vice President of Oxford Nigeria Society and Levi from Out of the Blue, one of Oxford’s leading all-male a ca****la groups. Look out for our BHM student leader interview series next week.

JCR Prescom is the JCR forum for Common Room Presidents to meet and discuss shared areas of interest and challenge. The SU Presidents for Undergraduates and Communities and Common rooms are invited to attend to Prescoms to update on SU work and identify ways the SU can support common rooms.

🗳️ Our Part-time Officer by-elections, the SU democratic process where students choose who leads and represents them at Oxford SU, are open for voting. You can vote at oxfordsu.org/elections, voting closes Thursday 22 October 8pm.

💬 CCR (Conference of Common Rooms) is taking place on 27 October at Cohen Quad in Exeter College. CCR is your space to discuss University-wide issues, bring forward motions and help shape SU policy. All students are invited to attend.
