🌳 Welcome to The Leys Together

Some of you may have noticed that this page has a new name.

Over the years, this page has shared the story of The Leys Festival through its different chapters – from The Leys FΓͺte to The Leys Festival. As the festival has continued to grow, an official festival page has also been developed.

To avoid confusion, we have decided to give this page a new identity and a broader purpose.

The Leys Together will become an independent community space dedicated to celebrating everything that makes The Leys such a special place to live, work and visit.

Our vision is to share:
🌳 local parks and green spaces
πŸŽ‰ community events and festivals
🀝 local organisations and volunteers
πŸ“Έ stories, memories and local history
❀️ inspiring people and community projects

This page is currently being developed, and there will be plenty more to come over the coming months.

Whether you have lived in The Leys for many years or have only recently joined our community, everyone is welcome here.

Thank you for being part of this journey. We hope you'll continue to share your stories, photos and community spirit with us.

Today, several members of the The Leys Festival & Leys Blackbird organising committee had the great honour of meeting His Majesty King Charles III during the official opening of the Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities at the University of Oxford.

The Schwarzman Centre is the largest building project ever undertaken by the University, bringing together teaching, research, performance and public engagement under one roof. It is also home to the world's only Passivhaus concert hall.

We were incredibly proud to represent the wonderfully diverse community of Blackbird Leys and to showcase the spirit of inclusion, partnership and community that makes our neighbourhood so special.
