Playworker – Blackbird Leys Adventure Playground CIO
Location: Blackbird Leys, Oxford
Hours: Part‑time (term‑time after‑school sessions + holiday playschemes)
Start date: ASAP (with a review March 31st)
Salary: £13.16 (increased in line with living wage every April)

Blackbird Leys Adventure Playground is looking for a fun, committed, and child‑centred Playworker to join our vibrant team. Our playground is a unique community space where children can explore, build, climb, create, and play freely in a safe and supportive environment.
About the Role -
• Supporting children aged 6–13 during after‑school sessions and holiday playschemes
• Encouraging imaginative, adventurous, and inclusive play
• Supervising play areas to ensure safety while allowing children freedom to explore
• Helping to set up, run, and tidy away activities and resources
• Building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
• Supporting behaviour in a calm, consistent, and child‑led way
• Assisting with snack preparation and general daily routines
About You -
We’re looking for someone who is:
• Enthusiastic, friendly, and passionate about children’s play
• Confident engaging with children aged 6–13
• Creative, energetic, and happy to get stuck in outdoors in all weathers
• Able to work well as part of a supportive team
• Reliable, responsible, and committed to safeguarding
You must have experience working with children in any setting — parent, school, nurseries, youth clubs, sports coaching, volunteering, or similar.
Play work experience is a bonus, but not essential. Training can be provided for the right person.
