Our next Chillactico is our near event present regista, McDermott.

Like Pirlo with an alcohol problem, McDermott has made the number 6 position his own. One of our most consistent performers, the man is nigh impossible to knock off the ball, can pick out long balls that our fat and slow wingers admittedly can’t catch, and he can thump the ball really hard on the volley quite often.

He is also the master of the coin toss, and has delivered very inspiring team talks containing phrases such as ‘keep it simple’ and ‘let’s just pass the ball’.

The team is always calmer with McDermott in the middle

UN-BE-LIEVABLE!!!!!

YOU’LL NEVER SEE ANYTHING LIKE THIS AGAIN!

Yes, you’ve read that right, 3 in a row! Our superb run of form continued, as we managed a well fought 3-1 victory against our friends at West Bridgford Shrimps FC.

Due to the whole team being in shock at winning 3 games in a row, the admin hasn’t had much feedback on how the game went down. What he does know, though, is this:

- A hattrick from our Asthma Attacker, as him and Sean in consecutive weeks put Paternoster back down the strikers pecking order.
- A hattrick of assists I’m told from The Badger, who was relentless as always.
- Rogan with an almighty display at the back.
- Our one-armed hero Thompson being penalised for taking a throw on!

The lads are flying high right now, and it shows just how far we’ve come as a team. 6 months ago 3 wins in a row would’ve been a stretch, a year ago it would’ve been unthinkable, but now we’ve done it.

Is 4 on the way?!

Our squad to face West Bridgford Shrimps FC tonight! Can we make it 3 in 3?!

Yes, Cobble is back. Yes, last weeks left winger is now our goalkeeper. Yes, Moran appears to be creeping further up the pitch again. If nothing else, we keep the opposition on their toes.

It’s set to be a great game, as our matches against WB Shrimps always are!

Ever wonder why the Chillacticos logo is a badger?

Probably not.

But if you have, look no further than this man here, , our very own badger.

No, he doesn’t have black and white chest hair, he doesn’t eat earth worms and isn’t protected by law from being culled. But he quite literally won’t stop badgering you, such is his try hard mentality.

And, unfortunately, we love him for it. Sam is a multi-time Chillactico of the year, can play in just about every position, and now no longer gets MOTM due to his consistency making his stunning displays look ordinary.

A fan favourite, we salute you, please don’t stop putting so much effort in, otherwise we’ll have to work harder and none of us want that.

Just try to stop facebutting fences so much 🙌

IT’S BACK TO BACK!!!!

Yes, you read that right, TWO Chillacticos wins on the bounce! Things you did not expect to see, but it just shows how far we’ve come as a team!

A superb display from the lads. We played some of the best football we’ve played, racing into a 4-0 lead after 20 minutes. We didn’t make it easy for ourselves, though, letting Staniforth back into the game with it being 5-5 at one point! Chillacticos of times gone by would’ve crumpled, but we showed grit and resilience to battle back in front and win the game 7-6.

In terms of performances, where to start? Hume, McDermott and Maltby was like prime Rice Soucek and Fornals, simply untouchable. Despite conceding 6, our defence was solid, great communication throughout. Then there was our front 3. Mezza on the left was electric. Then you had a Green masterclass on the right, bagging a penalty and showing the other Joe how it’s done. And finally you had Nolan, putting in a classic display, 3 goals, magnificent link up play - why can’t he play every week?!?!

A great result for us, and we look to keep the momentum going with another match next week. 3 on the bounce? Surely not!

Next up in our Meet the Team series, we have the one and only Steve Grady.

Like CR7, he just won’t retire, but unlike the Portuguese National Team we don’t have a problem with that. Our 61 year old winger-fullback hybrid typifies what the Chillacticos is all about - anyone can take part, as Grady has known for the over 11 years he’s been with us.

Grady has an unmatched capacity to shoot from absolutely anywhere, and is in a sense the Anti-Henderson, as he will only pass forward, no matter the situation. Add to that those deceptively long legs, Steve is fun to play with and a menace to play against.

WE WON!!!

Amazing scenes yesterday as we managed to come out on top 3-2 in a thrilling game against Nottingham Lions FC

3 different goalscorers today. It looks like the admin has fallen down the back up striker pecking order as Moran grabbed one from a ball over the top. Hume then scored what is known as a Tom Flynn classic mish*t cross, before Strong got a lovely chipped winner.

Strong could’ve gone one better though - a stunning overhead kick ruled out due to offside!

Special mention has to go though to Smith at the back, who put in a dominant MOTM display getting every single ball clear.

A brilliant win for the lads - onto the next one!
