A great article about today's tram singing event. We are very proud of our members that represented us as we launched our 'Thumbs Down to Hate Crime' campaign. NET Nottingham Tram were fabulous as they provided the perfect platform and support.

Tram users today were treated to a memorable journey as the choir from Nottingham-based charity, Pulp Friction, boarded a Nottingham Express Transit (NET) tram travelling from Clifton to Old Market Square and filled it with joyful harmony.

🐛A very productive start to yet another busy week! Marcus and Joey set about sorting our garden at Bestwood, sowing seeds, watering up, picking tomatoes and more!

🧁Lots of tasty treats were baked throughout the week - Irram's chocolate cakes, Tom's banana cupcakes and lots of tasty shortbread by the Pulp & Prints Coffee Bar team.

🎄The Christmas crafts are coming along nicely, and we were even treated to an impromptu Christmas karaoke session from Joe!

🧼Our training topic of the week was Preparing for Work. We looked at all sorts! Including uniform rules, hand washing, how to iron our aprons, chopping boards colours and where germs might be hiding!

🎂We celebrated a couple of birthdays this week too! Happy birthday to Lucy and Clare, two absolute superstars!

💃We had another dance workshop where Members lead the session - confidence building with each week!

💡On Wednesday and Thursday we attended Nottinghamshire County Council's two day Learning Together Event where Michelle H did a brilliant job leading the stall, and Jessie and Angela aced running a 'World Cafe Table' exercise!

🪱On Friday, Colin from DragonLight Films came to Bestwood to film a documentary about the work of our good friend Anna de la Vega and The Urban Worm CIC for Six Inches of Soil - we're delighted that our Master Composters will be featured!

🍹We finished the week with our Music, Mastermind and Cocktails evening! We enjoyed music from our Atmosphere Choir, and a fantastic quiz made by Nicola and Stevie! A huge thank you to everyone who came along 💚

Our campaign has been entitled 'Thumbs Down to Hate Crime'
We will be sharing more of our activist work over the coming weeks.
Plus there will be badges available soon designed by Pulp Friction members.

We're delighted to introduce you to the new Pulp Friction van!

This vehicle means more to us than just your typical mode of transport.

➡️ We'll be able to transport Members between sites and to events.
➡️ Collect surplus food more efficiently.
➡️ Bring our smoothie bikes to events far and wide.
➡️ Deliver buffets, move stock and so much more!

Not to be cheesy, but our new van will literally allow us to go further.

A huge thank you to those who made this possible! With funding and generous donations from MyPad Community Fund through Forever Notts, the Wollaton Park Rotary Club and Wollaton Inner Wheel. And a fabulous wrapping from Paintology Ltd!

We can't wait to show it off on the road 🛣️

🏅 Congratulations to Liv for winning this month's Hannah Hogan Kindness Award! Very well deserved ☺️

🪧 This week we've officially moved across into our new space in the church! Owen made a temporary sign, Will and Owais chalked a message in front of the old building and Joe helped tidy our new space☺️

⚠️ For our training topic topic this week, we've looked at personal safety and safety in different environments. We became 'safety detectives' talking about techniques to keep ourselves safe and happy.

🥘 Throughout the week, Members have cooked up some real delights! A veggie lasagna and vegan and gluten free lasagne with Ivan, leek and potato soup and garlic bread are just some examples! Albert and Clare did a brilliant job serving Members' lunches and sorting out our food waste for composting.

🍰 We baked some tasty cakes at Pulp & Prints Coffee Bar, crafted some Christmas goodies and practiced our money skills! Members showed great teamwork cooking up a delicious chilli!

🍄‍🟫 We had a couple great visits from Jamie at Rigsby’s Seasonal Foods . He spent the day with Members earlier in the week, looking at natural dyes and how we can treat wood and fabrics with them. Then parents and carers took part in a foraging, tasting and making workshop which was really interesting!

💪 We also fit in confetti making, litter picking, juicing and a workout session with Thrive! And our dance trainees did an excellent job leading a dance for everyone!

🍅 Over the weekend, our Nordic walking group got out in the sunshine, and we picked tomatoes over at the Dig-In Allotment.

Busy but brilliant week!
