Guys, please help me out; I don’t know if I am just behind the trend but there appears to be an increase in the cooking of rice dishes with palm oil amongst Nigerian Facebook content creators.
As a child of the 70s and 80s, palm oil was mainly used for local soups whilst vegetable oils was the favourite choice for rice dishes.
Am I missing something? Why the change, is palm oil a healthier option or does this have to do with costs and availability?
I’d really like to know so I’ll be tagging my mates who still live in Nigeria, are into the catering business and are also great cooks…
