Nottinghamshire Hospice Nottinghamshire Hospice is a charity providing end of life care for adults in Nottinghamshire. Please help if you can, thank you for all you do.

We’re the leading charitable provider of palliative and end of life care in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. We offer support where it might seem there is no hope and we provide care at times and places you thought would not be possible. We listen to your fears, help you cope and bring realistic hope that tomorrow can be a better day. We recognise it’s a real privilege to be part of the last stage of someone’s life – the last hours and minutes – and our aim is to make them the best they can be for you and all those around you. Our Hospice is alongside you when you need us, we’re your experts from the moment you learn that your illness cannot be cured or will not improve and we will help you in all the ways you need with compassion, acceptance, resilience and empathy. Each and every year we need to raise nearly £3million to meet the needs of patients with terminal and life-limiting illness and their loved ones. We achieve this through the kindness and generosity of people in communities across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire who recognise the difference our work makes.

Our Thursday group at Radford warmed up their vocal chords with Everyone Can Sing and our Tuesday group at Clifton had their toes tapping along with guitarist Chris.

Everyone deserves compassionate care at the end of their life.

Yet Hospice UK estimates that almost a third of people miss out on the end-of-life support they need.

As Hospice Care Week draws to a close, we’re supporting the call: “Don’t leave hospice care to chance.”

Fairer, more reliable funding is needed so that access to care does not depend on where someone lives. Here in Nottinghamshire, your support helps us provide free care in people’s homes and in the community, alongside support for families and carers.

“Being there brings a sense of steadiness,” says Namhla, one of our nurses who works night shifts.

Our Hospice in Your Home team brings skilled, compassionate care into people’s homes. Their work includes personal care, managing symptoms and supporting families through difficult moments.

This Hospice Care Week, we’re inviting our community to talk about something that affects every one of us: death and dying.

Another Goodbye is a tender and thought-provoking performance by Adie Mueller, inspired by the loss of her mum.

Following the performance, staff from Nottinghamshire Hospice will be joining a conversation exploring the themes raised by the show.

A chance to reflect, listen, share and perhaps start a conversation you’ve been meaning to have.

That's what CompassionART is all about.

Come along for arts and crafts, a cuppa and some friendly company. You might discover something new you enjoy - or simply have a relaxing afternoon and a chat.

You don't need to think of yourself as artistic, and there's no pressure to create anything perfect. Just join in at your own pace.

Meeting people who understand what you’re going through can make a difference to your day. 💜

Alongside care at home, Nottinghamshire Hospice offers wellbeing support for people living with an incurable illness, and counselling and emotional support for people affected by incurable illness or bereavement.

Our wellbeing groups offer a space for fun, relaxation and social connection with people having similar
experiences. Enjoy a mix of arts, crafts, games and companionship, with time to chat and get to know others.

After more than 60 years together, Brian and Liz wanted to spend the time they had left in the home they shared.

When Liz became more unwell, a bed in the living room meant she could stay close to family life, overlooking the garden.

Our Hospice in Your Home team cared for Liz through the night, giving Brian a chance to rest.

“Every aspect of the care was wonderful,” Brian says.

This Hospice Care Week, their story shows how care at home can make a difference to a whole family.

Being at home, surrounded by familiar things. A carer getting some much-needed rest. Having someone to talk to when things feel overwhelming.

This is what hospice care can mean for the people we support. 💜

At Nottinghamshire Hospice, we provide free care in people’s homes and in the community, helping people live as well as possible with an incurable illness and supporting families through end of life and bereavement.

But this care isn’t available to everyone who needs it. Hospice UK estimates that nearly 1 in 3 people don’t get the care they need at the end of their lives.

Government funding varies widely between hospices, affecting the care they can offer. Everyone deserves compassionate, high-quality care, whoever they are and wherever they live.

This , we’ll be sharing stories of our care and celebrating the staff, volunteers and supporters who make it possible. We’re also joining Hospice UK in calling for fairer, more reliable funding.

Don’t leave hospice care to chance.
