Please do join us in prayer during June, including:
- for the Kenyan clergy who participated in last month’s training of trainers programme as they roll out practical peacemaking training in their dioceses in Mt Kenya region;
- for Alastair and colleagues as they take forward plans for a new digital resource to complement the Reconciling Mission programme; and
- for identifying new sources of funding for existing and emerging projects, and for recruitment of someone to support RI’s fundraising and future development.
Thank you 🙏🏻

Four of our staff and core associates (5 yesterday) met in person with three joining us via Zoom to reflect back on the past year, and look forward to the coming 12 months.

Much to be grateful for and proud of, and plenty to learn from.

We’re excited to see how the partnership with Nigel Rooms & develops over the coming year.

"A church is not just what’s inside the doors, it’s how we open it up and go outside." Darlene, Elder

In reading the new book Reconciling Mission, by our director Alastair McKay & David Brubaker, the lay leaders and clergy of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (Charleston, SC) resonated with what happens when a congregation stops focusing on "filling the pews" and starts focusing on being a blessing to their local community.

What an amazing week with this pioneering group of senior Anglican clergy now looking to offer practical peacemaking training in their Kenyan Dioceses. They overcame a major national transport strike/blockade to ensure they could participate, and eagerly embraced new learning and insights. 💡💡🔦🌟

"They live what they write." 📖

A huge thank you to Krista Ashlock for her highly positive review of Reconciling Mission by Alastair McKay and David Brubaker in the Practical Theology journal!

Krista calls the book a "road map" for churches wanting to step outside their walls and connect genuinely with their neighbourhoods. Moving away from trying to "fix" people and moving toward real, mutual relationships.

Ready to transform how your church engages with the community?

Our Director was delighted to meet with Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit today as RI continues our collaboration with . Their conversation ranged widely including the global political context, the state of the , and how to take forward the practical peacemaking training in Kenya so that the church can better address internal tensions and more faithfully and credibly proclaim the gospel of God’s reconciling mission revealed in Jesus.

We welcome your prayers for RI during May, especially for the upcoming Training of Trainers programme in Kenya, and for thinking on integrating PMC practices into our Reconciling Mission programme. Blessings on you as you join us in prayer 🙏🏻
