Malvern Cube The Malvern Cube is a leading community centre for all with a focus on youth engagement.

In late 2010 a group of local residents began a campaign to save Malvern’s Youth Centre from closure by Worcestershire County Council. The Malvern Community Collective (MCC) campaigned vigorously against the closure of this valued community space and by Summer 2011, Malvern Town Council and Malvern Hills District Council pledged their support to the Collective’s plan to take over the running of th

e centre from Worcestershire County Council. On 1st May 2012, the MCC (now known as the Malvern Youth and Community Trust Limited (MYCT)) took over the running of the Malvern Cube at a peppercorn rent for the next 30 years.

Why do we know so little about the ancient buildings which surround our everyday lives?

The Buildings Archaeologist is the first book in over a quarter of a century which offers clues for discovering the secrets of Britain’s ancient buildings.

James Wright will explain the fascinating, enigmatic, and surprising world of The Buildings Archaeologist using case studies drawn from Worcestershire and beyond. There will be a major case study of Lydes House at Barnards Green, near Great Malvern. This event will be part of a nationwide tour linked to his new book.

🎨 Today’s daily burst of creativity from A4 for the Cube!

Introducing Ann Feest - Symphony of Heaven and Earth. Ann enjoys painting bright, uplifting images in acrylic on canvas and is part of several art groups in Malvern.

Ann's work will be on display in our café throughout October (normal café opening hours 9.30am to 3pm Monday to Friday) .

🎨 Celebrating Local Artists at Our Café Gallery! 🎨

A little while ago, we put out a call inviting local artists to showcase their work in our café gallery, helping us raise funds for our Build the Future project.

We’ve been absolutely overwhelmed by the incredible response! ❤️
In October and November, 42 talented artists will be sharing their work with us, and we can’t wait for you to see it.

Throughout September on social media, we’ll be introducing you to the artists whose work will be on display during October. Then, throughout October, we’ll be showcasing the artists featured in November.

We’ll also have an online catalogue coming soon, giving you a sneak peek at the amazing artwork. Many of the pieces will be available to purchase, with proceeds donated to our Build the Future project. 🙌

🌟 And now, let’s introduce our first artist: Lucy Davies!

This painting is entitled Japanese Bridge. Lucy is a young artist based in Ledbury who loves to replicate the rich colours and textures of oils using acrylic. This painting is a departure from her normal style of still life's. Lucy's work will be on display in our café throughout October (normal café opening hours 9.30am to 3pm Monday to Friday) .

The sunflowers have been judged, and we have a winner! 🏆

A huge congratulations to Sally Ford, who has officially grown the tallest sunflower! 🎉👏

It was a closely fought competition, with some seriously impressive sunflowers this year, but Sally’s took the crown in the end! 🌻👑

A big thank you to all our wonderful garden volunteers, and especially to Julie, for all the hard work keeping everything watered throughout those very dry summer months.

Well done everyone — and roll on next year’s sunflower competition! We raised nearly £100 towards our Building the Future project!🌻🏆😊
