🌟 What an Amazing Day at St. Mary’s Guildhall! 🌟
Our group had a fantastic time exploring the historic St. Mary’s Guildhall in Coventry. The visit was incredibly well-organised, and we were all captivated by the beauty and history of this remarkable building. 🏰✨
A special shoutout to our wonderful tour guide, Naiya, who truly made the experience unforgettable! 🙌 Her knowledge and passion for the history of Coventry brought the stories to life, and we learned so many fascinating facts. Thank you, Naiya, for your excellent guidance and for making our visit so enjoyable! 👏👏

Join the West Midlands Police at the Community Day Event.
Date: Wednesday 28th Aug 2024
Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.
Venue: Playing field behind Blue Coat School, London Road Coventry.
The event will include:

Today, we had the pleasure of hosting Tracey from the GO CV team in our session for new arrivals. 🎉 She did an incredible job providing all our families with GO CV cards, which will open the doors to free activities and amazing discounts at gyms and leisure centers across Coventry. 🏋️‍♂️🎳

To make things even better, Tracey generously gave out free pens and handy tokens for shopping trolleys—small but thoughtful gifts that will surely come in handy. 🖊️🛒

A huge thank you to Tracey for delivering such an informative and supportive session! Our new arrivals are now more equipped to explore and enjoy everything Coventry has to offer. 💙

What a wonderful visit to Coventry Cathedral today! Thank you so much to our amazing volunteer, Chris, for the very informative tour. We all learnt so much. The weather was perfect to linger in the ruins - the children enjoyed exploring. Thank you to the Cathedral for the wonderful welcome🙂

Crafting Happiness: A Day of Fun and Creativity! 🎨🖌️

Recently, we had the chance to work with amazing volunteers from Warwick University to host crafting sessions for our families. 👩‍🎨👨‍🎨

The kids and adults had a blast painting pots and bags. 🎨 Everyone got to express their creativity and make something special.

The best part was when the children received handmade gifts at the end. 🎁 Their faces lit up with joy! 😊

This collaborative event brought our community together through the power of arts and crafts. 🤝 It was a day filled with happiness, connection, and unforgettable memories. 💕

A great day on the Allotment last week :) It was an opportunity to find out where and how to grow your own fruit and veg in Coventry. Thank you so much to Gareth, Sarah and Jana for welcoming us to Earlsdon Allotments. It was good to share experiences - ranging from people who had run their own farm in Syria, to some who had not gardened at all before. We loved looking round the beautiful allotments and all enjoyed planting seeds in pots to take home.

On Thursday 21st March CRMC Integration Team hosted nearly 150 people for an Iftar Meal. We were pleased to welcome special guests as well as many of the families we have been working with.

🎶 We started the evening with Anasheed (Ramadan songs) and a short quiz – what are the countries that border Syria? … and Afghanistan?... There are a lot!

📚 Children’s books had been kindly donated by World of Books – these were available for the children to help themselves. “Can we really take them home?” 😊 One of the children gave a beautiful recitation and prayer.

🙏 There was time to pray, and break the fast together with water and a date. This was followed by the wonderful meal. A massive thank you to Beiruty Catering Beiruty Catering who donated and brought the most delicious food all the way from London 😊 We were blown away by the spread – Lamb and rice, Chicken and rice, Falafel, Hummus, Salad, Potatoes, Pastries, small breads and Maamoul (sweet date cookies). All amazing – see the photos!

👏 The team were supported on the evening by several volunteers. A really big thank you to Chris, Faiz, Ellie, Walaa, Shymaa, Asia, and Dalen who worked really hard from the setting up to the tidying up and helped provide a lovely welcome to the guests too.

Last year CRMC Integration Team partnered with Heart of England Community Rail Partnership and Highly Sprung in a special community rail venture. A Day Like This facilitated several refugee families to go on their very first train trip.

A Day Like This was nominated for a national award in the Community Rail Awards 2024 at the Swansea Arena on Monday 18th March.
Ammar and Samira who had been part of this trip went to the awards ceremony event in Swansea along with Ahmad and Rachel from CRMC integration team.

They write, "It was a great experience to be in Wales for the first time in my life. We would like to thank the integration team for giving us this opportunity to meet people from different communities from all over the UK."

We were all blown away to hear of so many amazing community rail initiatives and felt really proud to have been nominated along with other such worthwhile projects.

On this occasion we didn't win an award, but we were so glad to be there, and take part in this wonderful event 🙂
