Our In-Work Support Service continues to help Disabled people start, stay and thrive in paid employment. πŸ’™

Through dedicated In-Work Support Workers, individuals receive tailored workplace support to develop confidence, build skills and become more independent, while employers are supported to create more inclusive workplaces.

Since the service began, our team has delivered over 38,000 hours of workplace support and secured over Β£1 million in Access to Work funding, enabling Disabled employees across London to access the support they need to succeed at work.

New Self-Directed Support Service πŸŽ‰

We’re pleased to announce that AoD has been awarded a 3-year contract, extendable to 5 years, by Hammersmith & Fulham Council to deliver the Self-Directed Support Service.

Previously known as the Direct Payments Support Service, we provide free support to help residents make the most of their Personal Budgets and choose the support that works for them.

We can help with advice and guidance, finding providers and Personal Assistants, managing Personal Budgets, training and peer support, and working with Adult Social Care.

The service is available to Personal Budget holders, people considering self-directed support, carers, authorised or nominated persons, some under-18s, and residents living outside the borough with an H&F Personal Budget.

Our Self-Directed Support Service team will continue supporting local residents. πŸ’™

If you or someone you know could benefit from the service, please get in touch with us by contacting [email protected]

31/07/2026

Earlier this month, we facilitated a workshop as part of the UK Government's Timms Review of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), bringing together people with direct experience of the PIP process to share their insights and experiences.

The workshop provided a safe, open and respectful space for participants to discuss what works, the challenges they have faced, and their ideas for improving the system. Every contribution will help inform an anonymous summary that has been submitted to the Timms Review Steering Group to support its recommendations to Government.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and shared their experiences. Your voices are vital in helping shape the future of PIP and ensuring lived experience remains at the centre of decision-making.
