Money worry at 3am isn’t a budget problem. It’s a mental health crisis you’re handling alone.

Prices are rising. Everything costs more.

Bills that were manageable two years ago are suffocating now.
You’re not overspending.

The cost of living is just higher. And the shame you carry about struggling with it?

That’s the real killer.

So you lie awake.
You hide the post.
You isolate.

Because admitting you’re drowning feels like admitting you’ve failed.

But here’s the truth: you haven’t failed. Prices have risen. Your income hasn’t.

And saying it out loud to someone who isn’t judging you is the exact moment the weight starts to lift.

You’re not the only one awake at 3am. You’re not the only one carrying this. And you don’t have to carry it alone.

Some nights you don't go straight in.

You park up, kill the engine, and sit there.

Lights on inside. You can see them moving about.

The kids. Your other half.

A whole normal evening carrying on without you in it yet.

And you know the second you open that door you've got to be Dad again.

The one who's got it handled.

So you give it a minute, get your face right, and in you go.

I'll tell you what gets a lot of blokes.

You get so good at holding everyone else up that nobody clocks you're running on nothing.

It can go on for months.

You'll still do the bins and bedtime and still say "yeah I'm alright" without even thinking about it.

It's not a lie.

You are functioning.

You're just not okay, and there's a gap between those two that nobody around you can see.

Keeping it all in your own head doesn't make it any lighter.

If anything the house feels emptier when it's full.

You're allowed to hand a bit of it over.

Not all of it.
Not forever.
Just enough to get your head up.

And you don't have to do that sat in a cold car on your own.

That gap between functioning and being okay is where a lot of men live.

Quietly.

While everyone around them is sure they're fine

You think you don't matter much.

That if you weren't around, life would just carry on without much of a dent.

That's a lie.

You're the one who checks in on people.
The one who lends a hand before anyone asks. The one who holds it together so everyone else can fall apart safely.

People feel you.
Even when you say nothing.

The trouble is you've spent so long being the strong one that you stopped counting yourself in. You sort everyone out.

Your own stuff sits at the bottom of the pile.
But you matter.

If it feels heavy today, tell someone.
Doesn't need to be a big speech. "I'm not great at the minute" is enough to start.

You're worth more than you give yourself credit for.

Some days getting up is a win

Some days making the bed is a win

Not every win has to feel massive, monumental and grand

Days can feel heavy

It can feel like nothing is going right

But that doesn't mean you give up

Because nothing is permanent

You're loved and you deserve to be here

Make the small wins count

Asking for help is the hardest sentence most of us never say.

We carry it for months. Tell everyone we are fine. Smile in the photos. And quietly hope someone notices what we cannot bring ourselves to admit.

But people are not mind readers. The ones who love you cannot reach you through a closed door.

Saying I am struggling, I need a hand, I cannot do this on my own right now. That is not you falling apart. That is you giving someone the chance to show up for you.

Help only works when it knows it is needed.

So if you have been holding it all in, this is your reminder. You are allowed to ask. You were always allowed to ask.

Whoever you are, whatever you are facing, reach out. To us, to a friend, to anyone you trust. Just start with one sentence.

Comparing your day 1 to someone else's day 1000 is the quickest way to make you feel rubbish

Everyone only ever posts their highlights

Not the days where they doubt themselves
Not the days when they don't want to get out of bed.

But the good stuff.

The message is don't always believe everything you see online if you find yourself comparing all the time

Take some time away and analyse what's important to me and my mental health not what looks great on social media

MATE MONDAY

New month. Fresh start.

Last month's baggage? Leave it.

You get to decide how this month goes.
What you do. How you show up. What you prioritize.

One thing. One change. One commitment to yourself.

What is it?

Make it day one. Not "one" day"One day I'll talk about it""One day I'll reach out""One day, when things calm down"You do...

Make it day one. Not "one" day

"One day I'll talk about it"

"One day I'll reach out"

"One day, when things calm down"

You don't need to hit rock bottom
You don't need to have it all figured out.

You just need to start

Make today day one 💚

WHAT'S UNDERNEATH??

Everyone sees the surface.

Nobody sees underneath.

And underneath is where it hurts.

The shame. The loneliness. The things you can't say out loud.

Everyone's got a version of themselves they show the world.

And a version they hide.

The gap between those two versions is exhausting.

Let someone in.

Let them see what's underneath.

PANIC AND FEAR

Heart pounding.

Can't breathe.

Convinced something's terribly wrong.

Ever felt this?

Your nervous system thinks you're under attack.

It's flagged a false alarm.

Panic makes you shallow-breathe, which makes it worse.

Slow breathing interrupts that.

This will pass.

Every time it peaks and subsides.

Always.
