Founder of Eco-Catholic, Kieran O'Brien, has just launched a new book inspired by Laudato Si' and Pope Francis' invitation to 'read reality in a trinitarian key' (LS, 239).

In this book, O'Brien offers a new motivation model in which we can build long-term positive change.

It is called Integral Motivation Theory, and it works by integrating motivation with values and purpose - the three core primitives that shape all of our communications.

We are excited to launch our new book: 'A Beginner's Guide to Master Storytelling and Integral Motivation Theory'.

This book is a huge undertaking, exploring some of the most challenging problems we face today, including the social and ecological crises. In this book we suggest the reason that we have not been able to create real change on these global issues is because we have not changed the metanarrative from which we operate.

Only by 'telling a new story' at the metanarrative level can we ever hope to bring about the changes we seek.

A new storytelling theory - based on metanarratives and how to work with the implicit narratives that make up half of all communications.

A new values theory - explore how values behave differently when they are communicated implicitly and how to work with values at the metanarrative level of our communications.

We're delighted to share a talk by the founder of Eco-Catholic, Kieran O'Brien, who explores a new approach to the ecological crisis, through storytelling.

Drawing insights from Catholic Social Teaching and wisdom narratives, he explores some deep insights as to how we can create real and meaningful change on some of the biggest issues we face today.

He calls this approach Master Storytelling, which is a type of storytelling that works with the implicit aspect of storytelling. These are called metanarratives, and they hold incredible power over us, as they shape our values, beliefs and how we relate to the world around us.

Metanarratives reflect the paradigms that we hold, and these paradigms are not values neutral.

Pope Francis in Laudato Si' and Laudate Deum expresses a deep concern for the dominant paradigm, the Technocratic Paradigm, and how we need to transcend this paradigm if we are to heal to our world.

This talk is designed for professionals, leaders and those interested in a deeper conversation about how we can bring about authentic change by drawing insights from scripture, Catholic Social Teaching and wisdom traditions.
