📣 Good news! Great British Energy has rolled out the first wave of funding intended to support "People's Power projects across the UK". The aim is for communities across the country to be able to "build and control their own energy supply”.
The Rt Hon Miatta Fahnbulleh MP, Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero (Miatta for Peckham), launched this funding for "People's Power" projects with Repowering London at East Ham Library. She and Sarah Merrick, GBE Managing Director of Local Energy, met with representatives of Repowering London, Community Energy Newham (CEN), Newham Council and Community Energy England, as well as Newham Mayor Forhad Hussain, to learn about the community-owned solar installation on the building’s rooftop.
