Connecting Carers in Lambeth We are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm with an answerphone available. Some events are in the evening and weekend.

We are an independent charity based in Brixton and Streatham, offering services from both locations to unpaid carers living or looking after someone living in the London Borough of Lambeth.

Last week, our 12-16 monthly meetup took place at .

This building's rich and striking interiors were created by Khadambi Asalache (1935-2006), a Kenyan-born poet, novelist and British civil servant. He bought the house in 1981, and over a period of 20 years turned his home into a work of art.

We explored the building and took part in a postcard making workshop, using 3D effects to emboss our designs.

We found the creativity and commitment to style very inspiring!

We took our 5-11 year old young carers to see Wicked UK, as part of Lambeth Council's HAF scheme.

Everyone had a great time watching the show, with its incredible cast and excellent songs! It was a magical afternoon at the theatre.

Our adult carers got to join a cooking session with Healthy Living Platform this week.

They had a great time working as a team to cook recipes from Ecuador, before sitting down to enjoy the meal together 🍽

We recently partnered with Lambeth Council HAF and Create charity to host a 3 day puppetry workshop for our youngest carers.

We learnt about character design and the different ways of creating puppets, from paper dolls with moveable limbs to 3D hand puppets. Young carers then used a wide range of everyday materials and art supplies to turn their ideas into reality.

Everyone had a blast exploring the world of puppets and making new friends!

This week our Adult Carers got to visit the South London Botanical Institute 🌿🎋🌳🌹🍄🌼

Carers took a tour of the collections: Library, Herbarium, Garden and also enjoyed a botanical herbal tea making workshop. ☕️

The SLBI is situated in Tulse Hill, they run botanical events, talks, walks and educational activities which aim to amplify the vital relationship between plants and people.

At this month's Adult Carers Peer Support Group we were lucky enough to be joined by some of the British Museum's wonderful team. They brought along a number of artefacts, under the theme 'Extraordinary Everyday Objects', for our Carers to handle and discuss.

It was an amazing opportunity to learn and discuss the history of the British Museum and the objects it takes care of.

Deep breaths! ✉️ It’s Results Day.

We know that juggling revision, coursework, and caring for a loved one is an intense balancing act. To all the Young Adult Carers in Lambeth: just getting to today is a massive achievement that takes incredible grit.

Whether you got exactly what you wanted or things didn’t go to plan, remember the reality: a piece of paper doesn’t measure your resilience, your empathy, or your potential. There is never just one single route to where you want to go.

We love giving carers more opportunities to express themselves and this month we had a creative writing session 🖋📝📘

Our Mental Health Carers Peer Support Group learnt about poetry and tried writing their own verse. We looked at free verse, haikus and acrostics.

Everyone wrote some great poems and enjoyed learning a new form of self-expression! 💜

We had a great time working with Go Live Theatre Projects , who ran a 3 day Drama Workshop with our 5-11 year old young carers.

This excellent course allowed our young carers to take charge of all aspects of the piece, including set design, props and costumes. 🖌🎨🎭

We loved watching their creativity bloom and their confidence build as the days went on!🌼✨

Last week, we took our 12-16 year old young carers to Gravity Max

This venue is incredibly cool and filled with activities. We did mini-golf, bowling, and VR games. The highlight of the day was watching our young carers zip around the track on go karts! 🏎🏁🏆

It was great to see our Young Carers cut loose and enjoy some exciting, friendly competition 💪💪
