WeSeeHope

WeSeeHope We are a charity lifting children out of extreme poverty across Sub-Saharan Africa.

WeSeeHope is an international development organisation committed to creating sustainable change for vulnerable children in Sub-Saharan Africa. We currently work across four countries – Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania and Uganda – in areas where children are acutely impacted by lack of opportunity, isolation and exploitation. Focusing primarily on education, child rights and economic empowerment, we addres

s these issues through seven community-led programmes that we have developed over the last 24 years. Our aim is that vulnerable children have the skills to change their own futures. And that their families and communities are able to support them along the way.

A huge shout out to the incredible Ann-Marie Atkins, who has just completed the Everest Base Camp trek in support of our work! ⛰️🥾

Taking on one of the world’s most iconic challenges, Ann-Marie has raised over £10,000 to support vulnerable children across sub-Saharan Africa.

What an amazing achievement. Thank you, Ann-Marie 🧡

Meet William, a young student from Sengerema, Tanzania.

Across Tanzania, one in six primary-school-aged children is out of school. In Sengerema, we’re working with 10 schools to help change this. But supporting children like William to return to education after dropping out isn’t always a simple pathway.

Returning to school means having the right support around them to rebuild confidence and help them feel ready to learn again.

Through our Child Rights Programme, William received wellbeing support and guidance from trained mentors at his school, such as Francis, pictured here. Today, he is back in the classroom and looking ahead with hope.

And William is not alone. Across the schools we have been working with over the past year, dropout numbers have fallen by as much as 46%, while attendance is rising across the board, with some schools seeing increases of more than 25%.

Alongside this, 450 vulnerable and at-risk children are now members of support clubs. These are safe spaces where they can learn about their rights, speak up and be heard.

What a day at the 2026 Hope Classic Rally! 🚗🧡

This was made entirely by the people in it. From our generous sponsors, dedicated Rally Board members and auction prize donors, to every guest who donated so warmly — we cannot thank you all enough.

Together, we raised over £200,000 for vulnerable children and young people across sub-Saharan Africa. An incredible result that will make real, meaningful change for some of the most vulnerable young lives.

From all of us at WeSeeHope, thank you.

With less than two weeks to go until the 2026 London Marathon, we can’t wait to cheer on our incredible team of runners as they take on this amazing challenge 🏃‍♂️🧡

Each step they take is helping to lift vulnerable children and families out of extreme poverty across sub-Saharan Africa, and we’re so grateful for their dedication and commitment.

Happy Easter!✨🌼

Easter is a time to reflect on hope and new beginnings. We see that every day in the children and young people we work with and support to stay in school, grow in confidence and begin to create opportunities for themselves.

From education to entrepreneurship, they are building skills, ideas and ambitions that can shape their futures.

Thank you for being part of this journey and for supporting work that helps children thrive.

Partnership is at the heart of everything we do 🤝

At WeSeeHope, all of our programmes are developed and delivered alongside in-country NGOs and community-based organisations like Fanisi Tanzania.

Since 2000, we’ve worked with over 100 local organisations across Sub-Saharan Africa. Today, we partner with 10 organisations in Malawi, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Why does this matter? Because meaningful change comes through collaboration. Local organisations bring invaluable knowledge, insight and experience, and by working together as equal partners, we ensure our programmes are shaped by those closest to the work and grounded in shared understanding.

By working together, we’re not just delivering programmes, but strengthening local leadership, building long-term resilience and ensuring change continues far beyond our support.

Did you know small and medium-sized businesses make up around 90% of formal enterprises across many countries in sub-Saharan Africa?

We constantly see how these businesses create jobs, empower women and young people, and strengthen entire communities.

That’s why we focus on the crucial early stages, supporting people to gain practical skills through training, and to access financial resources through community banking groups so they can start and grow their own businesses.

By strengthening these foundations, entrepreneurs can build resilient businesses and create lasting change for their children and families.

Happiness isn’t just a feeling, it’s built through opportunity, support, and hope🧡

This , we’re reminded that when young people have the chance to learn, grow and feel supported, their wellbeing can truly flourish.

Take Dalitso, a young entrepreneur from Malawi, who at 18 was caring for his four younger siblings alone. At 18, he was caring for his four younger siblings alone. With the right training and mentorship, he built a grocery business, a food garden, and now runs a tailoring business. He earns a reliable income and has built a more-secure future for his family.

His short story is a simple but powerful reminder that when we invest in opportunity, we invest in happiness.

Every additional year a child spends in school can increase their future income by up to 10%.

Education doesn’t just open doors for children today – it creates opportunities that last a lifetime.

In 2025, together with our supporters, we helped make that possible for thousands of families:

📚 6,606 children directly supported to stay in school.
👨‍👩‍👧 13,171 parents and guardians trained to better care for their children in and out of school.
📉 97% decrease in the drop out rate at WeSeeHope-supported primary schools.
