On 30 January, the POWER UP cohort linked up at the iconic Southbank Centre for a proper focused meet-up rooted in community, cultural currency and building sustainably in this game.

Big love to and the team for holding space for us.

Yaw and Ben encouraged everyone to make these final four months count and lock in those vital memberships and links before the programme wraps.

Our Year 5 cohort had space for genuine connection, active listening and meaningful networking - plus a powerful in-conversation with POWER UP alum Jamz Supernova, who spoke honestly about the importance of in-person connection, setting digital boundaries and protecting your creative energy at all costs.

We were also joined by representatives from , , , , , , and who all took the time to get to know our POWER UP members on a 1-1 basis ✨

✨ Season’s greetings from PRS Foundation ✨

As we head into the festive period, our office will be closed over the Christmas break. Before we log off, we wanted to pause and say thank you.

2025 marked 25 years of PRS Foundation, and it’s been an extraordinary year — from anniversary events across the UK and the New Music Biennial, to POWER UP, Women Make Music, Keychange, international showcases, and seeing PRS Foundation–supported artists win major awards, including the Mercury Prize.

We’re grateful to the artists, partners and organisations who make this work possible, and to everyone who’s been part of our journey this year.

🎄 Wishing you a warm and restful festive break from all of us at PRS Foundation.

POWER UP, now in its fifth year, proudly brought together its current cohort on an inaugural residential programme in Manchester last month, thanks to a new collaboration with .

The residential provided participants with two days of creative exploration, professional development, community building and a chance to rest and reset. The programme featured sessions on the psychology of music, a restorative sound bath and healing session, a leadership and resilience workshop and a powerful panel conversation with leading industry figures.

Participants were able to bond over their shared experiences, reflect on their journeys and collaborate in evening studio sessions that sparked spontaneous music-making. Designed to deepen connections and strengthen confidence, the residential offered a vital space for Black music creators and industry professionals to reconnect with their values, broaden their networks and energise their ambitions.

It was an enjoyable and enriching experience for everyone who was involved and we hope this POWER UP residential will be the first of many more to come.

Anniversary Night reminded us what’s possible when artists and communities come together — and it set the tone for the next 25 years of PRS Foundation’s work. ✨

We were proud to celebrate with incredible performances from Rakhi Singh, Yazmin Lacey and ALT BLK ERA, curated by the brilliant Jamz Supernova. All three artists have been supported by PRS Foundation, making the evening an inspiring snapshot of the future of music we’re helping to build. ❤️

For 25 years, we’ve been investing in the next generation of music creators. And as we look ahead, our commitment remains the same:
supporting talent, strengthening communities, and removing the barriers that hold artists back.

We’re inviting partners across the music and creative industries to work with us to:

• Transform music creator careers across the UK
• Empower songwriters, composers and artists to realise their potential
• Support grassroots scenes and regional talent
• Tackle the systemic challenges facing underrepresented creators

A huge thank-you to all of our brilliant partners and funders for making this work possible — and to our Chair Jane Dyball and CEO Joe Frankland for their inspiring words on the night.
