Kyandumu self-help group's sand dam road crossing project in southeast Kenya connects Kyakalee Village, Ndumani Village and Muusini Village, supporting communities from all to reap the benefits of an improved road infrastructure as well as access to millions of litres of clean water.

To achieve our longer-term vision of influencing the construction of 1 million sand dams for 0.5 billion people, we have set out these goals to reach by 2030:

- 100 sand dams built every year through our direct support
- Influencing 1,000s more to be built globally by others
- Sand dams recognised by the UN and other global institutions
- A global network of certified sand dam constructors

Our September 2026 sand dam expedition is coming to an end, but not without a plaque ceremony and celebratory dance between some of the incredible volunteers, local community members and Africa Sand Dam Foundation who worked tirelessly to construct Nzina self-help group’s sand dam. Memories and impact for generations to come. Thank you to all involved.
