WE ARE MOVING TO THE O2! 👀

A NEW ERA BEGINS - NEW GROUND. SAME PURPOSE.

After 18 years, the Green Events & Innovations Conference is entering its next chapter.

And for GEI19, we’re heading to The O2 in London.

🌱 Congratulations to European Short Pitch !

We’re delighted to announce that European Short Pitch has been certified as a Greener Event 2026 – Commended.

Our assessors recognised the team’s passionate drive for a greener event, with a focus on best practice and a clear determination to continue improving, protecting the environment and strengthening positive stakeholder connections.

Their approach includes reducing flight emissions through a hybrid workshop model, choosing walkable and rail-connected host cities such as Leiden, prioritising local vegetarian catering and sharing sustainable production practices with filmmakers.

As a certified event, European Short Pitch is also automatically nominated for the International AGF Awards 2027. 🏆

🌱 What happens to hessian after a festival?

At East 2026, six pallets (3.64t) of hessian were recovered during the site breakdown rather than entering the waste stream.

Working with and onsite teams collected and consolidated the material so it could be given a second life.

The hessian will now be reused in the Peatland restoration project to help suppress w**d growth.

What if festival accommodation could benefit the local community too?

At Valley of Arts Festival 🇭🇺 visitors stay with local residents instead of in temporary campsites, helping support the rural economy while offering a more authentic experience.

Many locals also transform their gardens into spaces for performances and workshops, making the festival part of village life.

A brilliant example of how festivals can create lasting value by working with their communities. 🌿
