🚴‍♂️ 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 𝗛𝗔𝗦 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘! 🚴‍♂️

Tomorrow, 19th August, Tom Olley sets off on an extraordinary challenge: cycling all the way from John O’Groats to Land’s End in support of In Sue’s Name.

Over the next 10 days (19th – 28th August), Tom will cover hundreds of miles, pushing his limits to raise crucial funds and awareness for brain tumour research.

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀.

Yesterday, while listening to BBC 5 Live, I heard about Archie Goodburn - a Scottish swimmer currently fighting terminal brain cancer. Against all imaginable odds, Archie has just qualified for the final of the Men's 50m breaststroke.

Read that again. Facing a terminal diagnosis, he didn't just step back onto the blocks—he pushed through to a world-class final.

At In Sue’s Name, we witness the brutal impact of brain cancer every single day. We know the sheer weight of a diagnosis, the physical toll of treatment, and the courage it takes just to face tomorrow. But what Archie is doing on the international stage is nothing short of heroic.

When it comes to brain tumour treatments, we desperately need more options. Right now, surgery and radiotherapy are often the only paths available for people facing meningiomas—the most common form of primary adult brain tumour.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗮 𝗵𝘂𝗴𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝘂𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗹𝘆𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵. 🧪✨

Scientists have discovered that a family of drugs already used to treat muscular dystrophy and blood cancer could actually make radiotherapy far more effective against aggressive brain tumours.

This is the exact reason why funding dedicated research is so vital. It’s about finding new hope in unexpected places and turning that science into real, life-saving options for patients.

The weather played along, the atmosphere was incredible, and we were absolutely thrilled to welcome 15 fantastic four-balls to the course.

16 years ago our daughter Sue doing the Race for Life in memory of Lina the mother of MaryZazzi who died from a Brain Tumour, less than seven months later our Sue died from a Brain Tumour.
