Barons Court Project A friendly drop-in where people who are vulnerable through mental health issues or homelessness can find a safe and welcoming space to access support

Our core service is a friendly drop-in where people who are vulnerable through mental health issues or homelessness can find a safe and welcoming space to socialize, find support and access our other services. We have a television room (with fortnightly video showings), art group, twice weekly computer sessions, swimming sessions at a local pool, weekly relaxation & stress management sessions, a

garden and a café. We also have facilities for laundry and showers. Attached to the drop in, we have a large café selling food and drinks at cost prices. We have a developing life skills programme that aims to provide a wide variety of courses such as Arts & Crafts, Computers & Cookery Classes & one-to-one personal support. We are open Tuesday & Thursday from 11.00am to 1.30pm for advice work. This includes help with benefits, advocacy work or help with housing matters such as paying bills.

Met ‘L’ at West Kensington station this morning. Hot, tired, thirsty & hungry, he is currently sleeping rough. I asked if he had been to our centre & listed the services we have. He walked here with me & will have a shower, meal, phone charged, clothing & more.
As we walked together he said “thank you for talking to me, it’s so hard feeling invisible”.

Glad he came and is now part of our community.

We are back at The Adelphi Building exhibiting over 50 pieces of art. Today we have sold five pieces taking over £1000. Each piece is unique and beautiful in their own right.
We are there for the rest of the week and then next week transfer to their sister building at Wood Street.
Wish us luck that we will sell more work.

Yesterday was very special. Our Financial Controller, Niwin, received an award, a Girdlers’ Company Medallion, for her services to our charity over the past nine years.
Niwin is a brilliant & much loved member of staff who works incredibly hard and diligently. She also puts up with my lack of understanding on depreciation and accruals.
Ni was joined by husband Thein and myself.
Congratulations Ni, we are so proud of you and thankful for all you bring to our community.

Huge thanks to every single person, company and trust who have contributed to our Spacehive Appeal. Yesterday, with the generous support of London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, we achieved our target of raising £354,308 and now we can raise our roof and undertake major building works. This was on top of raising funds for our running costs.
Thank you all, together we have made this posssible and we will be able to improve our centre for all our guests.
