This month we’re pleased to welcome Arts & Minds’ 21st Annual Exhibition to Left Bank this autumn.

This new exhibition brings together work by around 50 artists from across Leeds, the exhibition celebrates the creativity of Arts & Minds members and the important role that art and creative activity can play in supporting mental health and well-being.

Come along and spend some time exploring the exhibition, then make a day of it with a coffee and cake from our café.

Exhibition opening hours:
Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm - Wednesdays, open until 9pm
Please note: We occasionally close for private events, so please check our website before visiting to avoid disappointment.‍

🎭 ROCKY HORROR DANCE WORKSHOP! 🕺✨

Get ready for a night of dancing, music and plenty of theatrical flair as Dance Studio Leeds return to Left Bank for a fun Rocky Horror themed dance workshop!

Inspired by the music and iconic energy of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, you’ll learn a fabulous choreographed routine inspired by the movie musical soundtrack. 🎶

No previous dance experience needed! Come along with your pals or join us solo, have a laugh and get stuck into the moves. 👠

👶 MONDAYS AT LEFT BANK! 🌿

Are you a new parent, grandparent, or looking for somewhere relaxed to hang out with your little one?

Toddler Takeover is here every Monday morning at Left Bank (except Christmas week/occasional bank holidays!) and we absolutely love welcoming our youngest visitors! 💛

Come along for a laid-back morning of play, chatting and caffeine. ☕️

We dedicate one side of the building to our little guests, with:
🧸 Toys and soft play mats
🛋️ Sofas, tables and benches
🐛 Plenty of room to roll, crawl and toddle
☕️ Coffee, snacks and somewhere for grown-ups to catch up
🌿 Access to our garden if you fancy staying a little longer

And most importantly, there are no organised activities or expectations. No forced singing, no structured sessions, no pressure! Just a friendly space to come as you are, let the little ones explore, and meet other grown-ups.

It's completely FREE, and you're welcome to stick around afterwards for lunch 👀

🎬 Thinking about writing a script? This one’s for you.

Ever had an idea for a film, TV show or theatre piece but not known where to start?

Our new 6-week Scriptwriting Course at Left Bank is designed for absolute beginners and anyone looking to explore a new genre or develop an idea they’ve already got.

Led by Barry Smith, a recent graduate of Leeds Northern Film School’s MA in Scriptwriting, the course will take you through the essentials of scriptwriting, from finding your characters and building a story to writing dialogue and developing your pitch.

✍️ Across six weeks, you’ll explore:

🎬 Week 1 — Understanding the screenwriting format
👤 Week 2 — Character development
🧩 Week 3 — Structure
💬 Week 4 — Writing dialogue
🎭 Week 5 — Exploring genre & where your project belongs
📣 Week 6 — Pitch development

Barry writes comedy shorts and features, thrillers and horror for television and the big screen. His current project All You Need Is... is being adapted for theatre, with its debut planned for a Leeds stage in 2027.

Whether you’ve got a half-formed idea scribbled in your notes app or you’re simply curious about how scripts are made, come along and give it a go. 🎥
